Explore the rainforest on a journey full of history and natural gems. Drive yourself to meet your guide in Fajardo, where you'll follow your guide into El Yunque Rainforest.

Visit the East side of El Yunque Rainforest and enjoy a 30-minute hike to the first waterfall. Admire the landscape, swim, rope swing, or free dive from multiple heights.

Further up after a 15-minute hike, there is another watering hole with a waterslide and cliff jump into the river. Learn about the rainforest’s history, iguanas, guava trees, bamboo, and century-old trees.

This adventure is ideal for nature lovers seeking an authentic Puerto Rican rainforest experience. Good physical condition is required; the hike is natural, very muddy, and fun.

Transportation not provided. No Uber or taxis allowed. Please wear closed-toe shoes such as sneakers, water shoes, or hiking sandals; NO flip-flops, slide in, crocs or any open toed shoes .

• Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
• You need to have your owned/rented vehicle in order to participate in this tour as transportation is NOT provided.
• Meeting start times vary depending on the season
• Good physical condition required.
• Tour may be difficult for people that don’t exercise regularly
• We recommend shoes that you won’t mind getting wet and muddy, that have a good grip and thick sole. Sneakers, water shoes or hiking sandals that cover your toes are the best options. Be mindful that sandals, flip flops and slides, crocs or any open toed shoes are not allowed as it can be dangerous once wet or muddy.
• Participants with: Overweight issues, Walking limitations, Permanent injuries, Recent surgeries are NOT recommended for this experience as it demands to be in a good physical condition to be completed.
• The guest will have to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes prior their chosen time. The time you picked for your reservation is the START time for the experience and as such we’ll depart from the meeting point at the scheduled time.
• The meeting point is NOT the final destination, a vehicle is required to reach the hiking trail. NO Uber or Taxis.
• Customers must know how to swim to participate on the tour
• Guests with recent surgeries
• Guests who have epilepsy, heart conditions and/or dizziness
• Minimum age to participate is 5 years
• Max age to participate is 59 years
• Trail is on uneven and muddy terrain. Guest will walk on LOTS of mud.
• Good physical condition required
• Flip Flops, Slide Ins, Croccs or open-toe shoes are NOT allowed.

We did this tour for a bachelorette and had the best time!!! Andrea was a great guide - informative, helpful, and fun. She was like one of the gals! Along the way Andrea ensured the groups safety, pointing out footing tips as the hike is super muddy! Our bachelorette group had a blast and Andrea captured great photos of this adventure so our memories will last a lifetime :)

Our tour guide Andrea was absolutely fantastic! Her energy and positivity were infectious throughout the entire hike. She took great care of the group, ensuring everyone stayed together and patiently waiting when needed. Andrea also had a knack for photography and captured some amazing shots of us during the tour.

A tip for future hikers: bring a change of clothes for after the hike, as you'll definitely get muddy along the way. Due to the strong current, we unfortunately couldn't experience the slide, but despite this, we still had an incredible time. Andrea's enthusiasm and professionalism truly made this trip unforgettable. <33

A great experience! Our guide Andrea was amazing! She told us about the plants and animals in the rainforest, which was so cool. She gave great tips about how to get through the hike, especially when it’s slippery. She took great pictures of our group and was hyped about our tour. She was great energy and was happy to give us recommendations for the rest of our time in Puerto Rico.

Our guide, Mario, was the best. He’s an excellent driver on the crazy roads that lead to the rainforest. The hike was difficult, but totally worth it!!! Recommend to everyone vacationing in PR.

Mario was great. Experience was fun, but make sure you bring shoes you don’t like getting muddy! (Preferably buy shoes you don’t mind throwing out)

Jon and jhonsy are both amazing tour guides. They were very knowledgeable about the rainforest. Both cared a lot for our safety. Would definitely recommend anyone interested in booking el yunque tour to book with these two. Jon and Jhonsy made clear instructions on how the tour would be and what to expect.
