At this tour you are going to discover the old part from the city , you will back by the history about 1800 years ago.
you will meet your guide at Down Town Cairo , or Metro station then you will start to Explore the ancient part from the city.
Old Cairo is a relatively small area but it is rich with history. Also known as Coptic Cairo, and Masr al-Qadima to the locals, it has been inhabited since the 6th century BC. It has been a Roman fort protecting trade routes, a Christian city from around the 5th century AD, a Muslim army camp from 641 AD, then Egypt's capital city until yet another conquest in the 10th century.
The main interest these days is in its role as Coptic Cairo. The narrow cobbled streets contain the Religious Compound, full of churches including the Hanging Church, the oldest synagogue in Egypt, the remains of the Roman fortress, and the Coptic Museum. Just northeast is the site of ancient Fustat which contains the oldest mosque, Amr Ibn al-Aas

“I had a great time with Radwa. She's very sweet and passionate about the history of her country. She let me wonder about freely even helping me look for very specific souvenirs (definitely was not part of job). I learned a lot and felt like I made a friend. Special shout out to the driver who handled the traffic like a pro.”

I loved learning about the culture and history throughout the tour. Getting to sit inside the places as bask in all their architectural glory was breathtaking. Thank you Mido!

My guide Mohamed was excellent as his knowledge, passion and experience of the area, culture and history was outstanding. He was attentive to our needs and personable as well. it was an excellent start for our time in Cairo and I recommend the tour to get acquainted with old Cairo and the deep history of the city beyond the ancient ruins that are the obvious attraction to the overall region.

The tour was amazing. Yomna, my tour guide, was very thoughtful. She made me feel at home in her country. She passionately made me understand her country’s history and culture. If I had more time I would’ve taken another tour with her.

Mahmoud was my guide on this tour and he was the best. He set the time and adjusted the tour to fit my busy schedule. Started with a great lunch and then onto the subway to see more closely the daily life of Cairo. We visited several of the famous churches, a synagogue, and a mosque. What I liked was that after he explained the historical significance of each place, he gave me my own time to wander around taking photos or just reflecting. I never felt rushed. The mint tea to cap things off was delicious. I highly recommend this tour.
