The price provided and the service far exceeded all other companies we researched for the 4 day Inca trail trek. I communicated with Pamela to book the trek and she always answered promptly and clearly about any question I had. Upon our arrival to Cusco, we had our briefing to explain how the trek would go. There was some questionable communication about our itinerary, but Henry, our guide, was able to navigate the itinerary and make this trek into an incredible experience. Our team of porters - Clemente (our chef), Enrique, Cipriano, Isidro, Bernardino, and Makario, all were very friendly and did an amazing job. The food was excellent, we had more than enough food at every meal and always had a snack. I still can't believe Clemente was able to make a cake for us too! If you are booking, ask specifically for Henry, the right guide makes all the difference!!! My boyfriend and I were the only ones on the trek so we weren't given a bathroom tent, but there are plenty of bathrooms along the trail. It was truly the trip of a lifetime, thank you Tierras Vivas, Henry and our porters for everything.

We had Nico as a guide and Leo as a cook. Together with the team of porters they gave us a very nice experience. We booked a group tour but ended up with only the two of us. A special compliment to Alex who served us well and make us feel comfortable. Leo served very nice gluten-free and vegetarian meals. Impressed how he and the team managed to take the ingredients with them. Finally Nico explained a lot about the Inka Culture and makes you feel comfortable and get the most out of your inka trail trip.

Our trip started with a lot of questions if we were gonna make it . The moment we met our incredible guide Ruben I knew everything was gonna be fine . Ruben , our chef Jesus and our porters with Irineo as their leader brought the whole experience into another level !! Ruben was supportive , knew how to encourage us but also to keep the pace of the hiking at the right level . His knowledge and pride for his country made me appreciate Peru even more . A wonderful man whom we will never forget . Jesus , a Michelin level chef prepared delicious and nutritional food throughout the entire hiking . As for the porters always with a smile and wiling to help us constantly . I feel very lucky for having chosen Tierras vivas and this crew for this once in a life time experience!
If I ever could do this trip I would do it ONLY with Ruben and his crew .

Thank you for this incredible experience. It was a great challenge which you helped us to make it possible

What am amazing (albeit very challenging) 4 day trip we took with Inca Trail Tours to Macchu Picchu. I had wanted to complete this tour for some time and I can honestly say it was worth the wait. We were met by Nico (our tour guide) the night before, who laid out the plans for the trip and expectations. With this information it helped to allay any concerns we might have had. The following morning we met with the full support team of 5 porters (who would look after the majority of our belongings and organise our night stays) and two chefs who would ensure we were fully sustained from a food perspective. These guys we later came to know as "Gods". With the help of the team we climbed up to 4500 metres above sea level combating aches in feet and possible altitude sickness but this was helped with a large amount of humour and encouragement from the team. We covered a number of different micro climates like jungle, cloud forest etc and some rainy interludes (which were quite refreshing when they came). We slept in comfortably organised tents which were sorted out by the porters prior to our arrival at the camping point each night and in the morning we were given a hearty breakfast to start the day (prepared by Andreas our chef). All meals prepared, Breakfast, lunch and dinner were of a very high standard. On a few of the walks (especially the descents) I struggled due to my bad knee). However, Nico our guide stayed back with me and using some very good distraction techniques and history lessons was able to give me the energy I needed to last the course. I thoroughly enjoyed doing this trip, possibly the biggest achievement in my life. Thanks again to Inca Trail Tours for all their support in making this possible.

This trip was long in the making (supposed to go the week before covid lockdown in 2020), so the expectations were high, however they were surpassed in bucket loads. The scenery is simply stunning and the journey is just as good at the incredible destination.

Nico (our guide) couldn’t have done anymore. Knowledgable, patient, understanding, encouraging, approachable and humorous (very much needed at times!). It’s a challenging trek, but nico and his team made sure that all our needs were met. He went at our pace and knew when we needed a break.

We couldn’t have done it without the while team though. Will forever be in awe of the porters who were so quick carrying everything and had it all set up before we got into camp. Andreas, our chef, was also superb, making sure we meter went hungry, even producing a full blown cake on camping stoves.

Probably the best trip I’ve ever done and in no small part down to nico, his team, terras vivas and Inca Trail Tours who organised it all. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

We had an amazing trip on the Inca Trail! Our guide Henry was extremely knowledgeable and fun, keeping us
engaged and motivated. The food was unbelievable—Andrés and Pedro were very talented chefs. We also got to know all six porters: Julio, Sergio, Uriel, Adriel, Juan, and Basilio. When the train was delayed for our return to Cusco, Tierras Vivas went above and beyond to adjust our itinerary and make sure everything worked out. Overall an incredible, once in a lifetime experience!!

Breath taking views of Andes mountain, Inca ruins full of history, hundreds of species of plants especially rare orchids and last but not least friends from all over the world are the rewards of four days of Inca trail hike. Henry, our tour guide and his team made my experience perfect.

Henry is a seasoned tour guide. He has hiked Inca Trail for over 1000 times. I am in a group of 3 young and middle aged guys, so we can walk fast sometimes and slow when taking tons of pictures. Henry is very patient and adjusted his team’s plan to accommodate our pace. On day two, we walked so fast that we reached our scheduled lunch place at 10:30am. Henry asked the chef and porters to continue walking and wait for us at the final camp for lunch. We made such a good friendship that even after the trip, I still texted Henry for advices on my remaining trip in Cuzco.

My trip was in April, which is the end of raining season. We got rain on day two and day three, but our spirits were so high that I felt it’s actually a quite unique experience, and nothing unfortunate. We were lucky that when we arrived in Machu Picchu, the sun came out and we can see everything clearly.

Our chef, Andres, prepared tons of delicious food. And our porters not only adapted to our pace, but also kept my clothes and sleeping bag dry in the heavy rain. I really appreciated their hard work and remembered their names: Pedro, Adriel, Uriel, Julio ,Juan, Basilio, and Sergio. Thanks team!

We had an amazing time on this trip. We did the 3 day option with Nilton and his team and it was a life changing experience. The views on the Inca trail are remarkable and it was such a rewarding feeling to get to Machu Picchu at the end :)

Nilton is a superlative guide - he has so much knowledge about the trail, Peruvian history, Incan and pre-Incan civilizations, and the Quechua people. It was a privilege to be able to learn from him on the journey. He also makes sure that you are safe, taking enough breaks, and enjoying / taking pictures / being present on the breathtaking trail.

His team of porters are excellent - really kind people who make sure you are well taken care of. They work incredibly hard so that you are comfortable and have nutritious and diverse food on the trail. You will be amazed at how delicious the food is!!! They take care of everything while also including small details that make you smile - like hot coca tea in the morning when you wake up!

Tierras Vivas as a company is very easy to work with and accommodating. The pre-departure meeting was informative and they were flexible with allowing us to go to a different city at the conclusion of our tour for a reasonable fee and all the logistics worked flawlessly.

Overall if you want to have an incredibly meaningful, challenging but rewarding, educational, awe-inspiring and most of all FUN time on the Inca trail - Nilton and his team are your guys!!!
