It was nice to leave the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Min behind and enjoy nature in Nam Cat Tiem. Our guide Ken was very pleasant, informative and helpful. The overnight stay was very basic, but we expected that. It was fun to cycle and walk through the jungle, so we were able to see quite a few animals and beautiful trees. The paths are easily accessible, but a 5-hour walk is certainly not a "walk in the park"

Nice trip from HCMC. The accommodation arranged by Hana was good and the meals were tasty. The short walk on the 1st day is on fixed paths in a national park and the long walk on the 2nd day is on a paved path to the crocodile lake. I went in the dry season and heavy footwear is not necessary. It works well with sneakers.

Will was a very funny and competent guide. He was also very flexible and always asked about our needs and fulfilled special requests (buying pomelo along the way, etc.). Communication in English worked very well. In addition to the jungle, he also told us many facts about Vietnam, its history and ways of life.
We got everything we needed and the food was good (water, mosquito spray, etc.)
We were lucky and were able to see and not just hear many monkeys.
The beautiful birds and crocodiles were also great to look at. I personally just love all the noises in the jungle and the trees were very impressive.
The apartment was very simple but OK for one night.
The night safari was OK but the jeep was loud and sometimes fast - so not really suitable for animal sightings - but we were lucky and saw some deer, a porcupine and a kind of weasel with a leopard print.
All in all, a great trip :)

We booked a group tour but nobody else inscribed, so it was a private tour for us both. Couldn't start better. We were picked up at our appartement and drove with a modern van to Cat Tien Nationalpark. On the road, we stopped to drink sugar cane juice and watch floating houses. At the Nationalpark we first had lunch and then a quick nap. Afterwards we rode with the bicycles through the forest to see old trees and the river with a ranger. Very good explanations.
In the evening we had dinner and a night safari. We didn't see many exotic animals but that's the risk of a safari. So everything is fine.
On the next day we walked 10 km in total through the jungle to the crocodile lake and took a boat ride there. Very calm and impressing. Don't touch the water, many crocodiles inside!! After lunch we headed back to HCM.
Calm and safe driver!
Our guide was Linda (her english name), very kind and lovely and had a very good english with nice vocabulary. She gave us many background information and bothered alot about us. We learned a lot and had 2 lovely and good days. Highly recommended!

At around 8am we were picked up at the hotel in HoChiMinh (backpacker district) by our guide Thuy, nicknamed Linda. Her English was significantly better than ours. Nevertheless, we could understand you well :D
A van took us in the direction of Cat Tien National Park. After about two hours of driving we made a stopover. We were allowed to press a typical Vietnamese lemonade from sugar cane and then taste it. Very tasty :D
Then we continued by bus. Around noon we arrived at Cat Tien National Park. After we stowed our backpacks in the accommodation, we went to the nearby camp restaurant for lunch. The food was typically Vietnamese. Then a tour through the forest was planned. The forest looked more like a jungle to us :D Before that we equipped ourselves with long stockings, long socks and medicine cream to protect ourselves against blood hedgehogs. That looks funny and was an extraordinary experience. We cycled to different spots. After that we continued on foot. We saw great old trees. We had never seen such roots before. A narrow path led into the forest. Above us, monkeys climbed in the treetops. Very cool :D We continued cycling through the national park. In the evening we went back to the camp restaurant for dinner. Then we went with a bus to the night safari. Unfortunately we didn't see many animals during the night safari.
The next day we walked to Crocodile Lake. The tour led directly through the jungle-like forest. Cool atmosphere :D Arrived at Crocodile Lake we could see the eyes of the crocodiles on the water surface. We've never come that close to live crocodiles before :D Then we walked back to the camp. At noon we took the minibus back to HoChiMinh.

All in all it was a very interesting two day tour. The tour offers a good change from city life. Especially the trip to the old trees and the trip to Crocodile Lake were worth seeing. It's a pity that we didn't see so many animals in the two days. You can tell that this is not a zoo, but a national park. Everyone who wants to do this tour should be aware of that.

Both our guide Linda and our bus driver were great. Thanks for the great impressions ;D

The guide Mr. Tran Thanh Truan is a very knowledgeable person who shared nuanced nuggets about Vietnamese history, peoples, culture, population statistics, war history, etc. He astonished us with his sensitivity about Indian dietary restrictions. Although we eat everything and all kinds of meats he made it a point to know our preferences, so he could inform our homestay hosts in advance. He had astounding knowledge of indian culture too both of contemporary india as well as indian cultural influence on Vietnam through the ages. Polite and courteous to a fault too. He had very good knowledge of our destination too and took pains to make us as comfortable as possible often at the cost of his own convenience. I wish him well and would certainly like him to chaperone us on any future visit to Vietnam
