Guide was knowledgeable and interesting. She hiked at our pace and was encouraging and helpful to make the hike most enjoyable for everyone. The youngest in our group was 9 and the guide was great at helping her keep up.

Of course the canyon is amazing to experience. Yet, it was made even more awe inspiring by our guide who showed us how it all points to our amazing, powerful, and just God. Thank you for sharing the science that reveals the truth of the Bible!

This marked our second visit to the Grand Canyon and our second tour with Canyon Ministries. Our first experience with them on the Sunset tour was equally impressive. From the initial inquiry call to the tour itself, everything about Canyon Ministries is top-notch.

The tour is a truly enlightening half-day experience. We met up with our guide, Adam, at 8 am at the visitor's center, then took a brief shuttle ride to the trailhead. He informed us that because we were the only ones to sign up for the tour, we would have a personal tour. (This is reassuring knowing that they would not cancel if the group size was too small.) Ahead of the hike, Adam provided an insightful overview of what awaited us at the rim, framing the Grand Canyon as a testament to Noah’s flood. Following a reflective prayer, we descended the Kaibab trail. The hike down ranged from easy to moderate, pausing frequently to delve into the canyon’s geology and its link to the biblical narrative. Adam pointed out fascinating trail features, like small animal paw prints captured in rock, evidence of ancient floodwaters. These insights were invaluable and enriched our experience beyond what we could have achieved on our own. At Oh Ah Point, we paused for some breathtaking photos before continuing to our lunch spot, where we enjoyed further discussions about Young Earth and creation topics. The return hike, while moderately intense over 1.5 miles, was manageable with frequent stops. This offered many opportunities to discuss more of the canyon’s formation. We never felt rushed, and Adam ensured we were comfortable and informed throughout. Upon reaching our starting point, we took some more pictures, and Adam finished the tour with a beautiful prayer.

The Highlights:

- Canyon Ministries is exceptionally organized and responsive. Booking in advance is necessary for this tour, but communication is prompt, and they are readily available to address any queries.

- As with our first tour, the Canyon Ministries tour guide was knowledgeable and personable guide throughout.

- Weather this time of the year (mid-April) was ideal, with a refreshing morning chill and comfortable temperatures on the return hike—a preferable alternative to warmer conditions.

- By offering a unique perspective on the biblical narrative and the Grand Canyon's formation, the tour is both informative and spiritually enriching.

- The pace of the tour is leisurely, allowing ample time for exploration and reflection.

- As a non-denominational Christian tour, it accommodates a broad spectrum of Christian beliefs.

- The tour made us feel a lot more knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon's formation and its connection to biblical events.

- This tour is perfect for families, church groups, and anyone interested in geology.

Areas for Improvement:

- We regret not taking this tour earlier when our children were teenagers.

Tips for Future Visitors:

- Consider ordering ‘Your Guide to the Grand Canyon: A Different Perspective’ and familiarize yourself with Genesis before your trip.

- Keep an eye on the daily weather forecast, as conditions can influence attire choices.

- Sturdy athletic shoes or hiking boots with good traction are essential.

- The return hike can pose a challenge for some, but the majority will make it back with frequent stops.

- Pack snacks, water, and lunch for sustenance during the tour.

- A restroom is available at the trail's end.

Overall, this tour is a remarkable addition to any Grand Canyon visit, providing compelling evidence of the biblical narrative and fostering deeper spiritual connections with nature.

This hike is not for the faint of heart. Not only is it breathtaking, but hikers should know there are many paths you walk on that are close to cliff edges, and that whoever goes down the hike must hike back up! It does take a lot of energy and endurance to hike down and back up again. I wouldn't say it's the hardest hike ever, but it does take it out of you by the end of it.

Bryce Brothers was an exceptional tour guide, always teaching from a Christian, Biblical young-age creation perspective. We read scripture of the flood account when we reached the mid-way point in our hike, which was a deeply moving experience. Seeing the record of the great flood in front of us while reading the account of how it happened was a very unique way to put it all in perspective. Bryce also provided insight on the way down the hike on various rocks and other interesting facts (like how there could be permanent animal tracks in the rock).

It was a sight to behold the South Kaibab area and all its beauty, and to have adequate teaching alongside it was truly great.

Easy hike with a great group of people. Our guide, Bryce Brothers, was patient and kind; we really appreciated the Scriptures he shared, as well as the interesting fossils he pointed out. We’re especially grateful for the young-earth Biblical perspective shared by Canyon Ministries and, because of our shared values, we’ll be back for a back-packing trip next year.

NOTE: The afternoon sun is intense and we saw other hikers who were unprepared. Bring lots of water and Gatorade and be sure to have some salty snacks whenever you stop to drink.

It was very fun, and the guide was conscientious of our safety, and she was very friendly. She shared a lot of scientific evidence that explains the flood event recorded in the Bible. She was very knowledgeable. This is a Christian tour and so you should be prepared for that. We were not of her faith, but we’re Christians and enjoyed it very much even though some of the things were different than what we believe. We loved hearing information from others, and we really Put a lot of thought into some of the things she said about the creation of the Grand Canyon that we hadn’t thought of before. Great day.

The tour was in the splurge zone, but it was VERY well done. Our guide, Dana, was extremely knowledgable, and made the hike for us. We decided on the hike because we wanted to experience the Canyon from the inside instead of the rim. Both of my boys, ages 17 and 20 were very glad we chose this over a rim or train based tour.

Bryce did an excellent job as our guide and was a wealth of information about the rocks and the formation of the canyon - we learned so much and can't wait to share what we learned with family and friends. We hope to one day be back for a river tour!
