Chefchaouen, often referred to as the Blue City, is a small town nestled in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. It is renowned for its striking blue-washed buildings and winding alleyways that offer a unique and picturesque charm. While the city is visually stunning, visitors should be prepared for some logistical challenges.

Getting There:
Traveling to Chefchaouen typically involves a 3-hour bus ride or shared taxi from nearby cities like Tangier or Fes. Be prepared for a potentially bumpy ride and no restroom facilities en route.

Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, visitors might face some inconvenience as there are no immediate restroom facilities at the drop-off points. It is recommended to take a taxi directly to your accommodation or a nearby hotel with available facilities. Hotel Paragon is a suggested option where you can freshen up before exploring the Medina.

The Medina of Chefchaouen is a maze of narrow streets adorned with beautiful blue buildings. The vibrant colors, coupled with the local shops and cafes, create a captivating atmosphere. However, public restrooms are scarce within the Medina, making it essential to plan your visit accordingly. You may need to rely on cafes, restaurants, or hotels for bathroom access.

- Architecture: The blue buildings are the standout feature, offering countless photo opportunities.
- Local Markets: Explore the local souks for unique crafts, textiles, and souvenirs.
- Scenic Views: The town offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains, especially from higher vantage points within the Medina.

Tips:
- Stay Hydrated: Carry water and stay hydrated, but also plan bathroom breaks accordingly.
- Comfortable Footwear: Wear comfortable shoes as the Medina’s streets are uneven and involve a lot of walking.
- Currency: Carry small change for tips or small purchases, especially when using facilities at cafes or hotels.
- Guided Tours: Consider a guided tour to make the most of your visit and to get insights from a local perspective.

First of all, the rating has nothing to do with the trip and organisation of the trip.
They picked us up in time, in a good van with wifi and air-conditioning.
The ride was about 2 hours and we stopped after 1 hour for breakfast in a beatiful place. Can really recommend eating there.
Chefchaouen is worth visiting but the guide had no valuable information to share. It was more like "here you can buy this or that" and "here you can take a picture". We expected more input from him regarding the history around the village.
After the guided tour (around 1 hour) we hade 2 more hours to spend alone, which we found unnecessary as you saw the whole village and lunch break takes about 1 hour.
On our trip home we stopped at a gas station and then we went on a panoramic viewpoint of Tangier.

Wonderful trip! The guide was very knowledgeable. While walking was hours, it didn’t seem that way. The streets are winding and everyone is very welcoming. The town is based on tourism. I’d come again!

Our day trip to Chefchaouen was exactly what we wanted. The ride to and from was smooth and on time. When we got there, the group was divided into two according to language and we got the English guide, Youssef, who was funny and friendly. We also lucked out as our group was lively and bubbly, and we had a great time chatting over lunch. Of course Chefchaouen is beautiful and you will get great pictures there guaranteed. I think we went at a good time as there was no need to queue at the popular “instagrammable sites” - either way we were not very fussed about that. Oh yes and even our driver was lovely, he played Despacito when it was requested haha! I recommend this tour!
