As the Pinhão Railway Station is the most beautiful station in the Douro, it was built during the 19th century. In 1937 the station received the famous tile panels, the images that represent the various phases of wine production. It was created by the artist J. Oliveira.

The city of Amarante is dominated by the magnificent church and monastery of Sao Gonçalo. São Gonçalo was a Benedictine monk who settled here after traveling through Italy and Jerusalem. The Amarante Bridge brings to mind the population's heroic resistance to Napoleon's forces who, at the beginning of the 20th century, XIX, who invaded Portugal. After a short visit to the city, you will taste the famous Vinho Verde accompanied by some delicacies from the region.
