Los Haitises National Park is a hidden gem full of fascinating caverns, unspoiled beaches, and mangrove forests. Visit to enjoy hiking, caving and get involved with the Nature, as well as some of the Dominican Republic’s best bird watching. The park is also home to caves full of carvings made by indigenous Taíno Indians.

This tour was full of varied activities led by a highly knowledgeable guide who spoke fluent English, Spanish and French. We explored markets, sampled local cuisine, visited a local family and their small farm, explored caves, toured by boat, went to the mountaintop where you could zipline for a small fee or just take in the sights for free, swam in the river, had lunch at a beautiful hotel - I'm sure my list is missing things! Just be aware that this tour takes all day and there is a considerable amount of driving involved, but the bus is air-conditioned and the activities are spread out so it's a nice balance. Great value for the cost of the ticket!
