Our one day Petra and Wadi Rum tour from Aqaba offers a truly amazing experience. This legendary ‘lost city’ of Petra was carved into the walls of a desert canyon over 2500 years ago. Enjoy the wilderness adventure on a short 4x4 jeep tour of Wadi Rum, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, climbing sand dunes and rock bridges. Included in this tour is all entrance fees, guiding, transportation, and lunch.

Unfortunately we are not able to go on the Petra Excursion booked for next May. I contacted JHT who promptly refunded our deposit in a seamless process. Communication between myself and Basma from JHT was excellent. I have no doubt should we decide to visit Jordan in the near future we will utilise the excellent services of Basma and the team at JHT.

Adding to the chorus of individuals who did not make it to Aqaba/Petra from the Celebrity Edge due to the ongoing conflict in the region. I spent 18 months working with JHT Tours. My group changed completely at least twice forcing countless interactions with Basma. Everything was always handled professionally and fairly. This cancellation required JHT to issue probably over 100 refunds which they completed in a very short time. I highly recommend JHT as company that offers great service and stands behind their product.

Although our stop at Aqaba port was cancelled by the cruise so we were unable to go on this tour, I wanted to report that communication with JHT was professional, friendly and efficient from beginning to end. They responded to emails promptly and processed our refund in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

*What You liked :

Mamoon was incredible. Our driver was incredible. The taboon bread he picked up at the bakery - incredible. We really enjoyed our private tour experience and it allowed us to get in and out of Jordan from Eilat all in one day. Truly appreciate Basmah and the team helping us make it happen!

*What you disliked :

We did have an incident in Petra where our guide was injured - we felt SO bad. He was getting on a donkey because we wanted to do the Monastery and he was injured in the process. We've checked in with him and he's doing better (thank goodness) but it was a pure reflection of a lack of rules for Petra and NOT this tour company.

Our personal highlight from our cruise vacation on the Red Sea. The booking went without a hitch, we were picked up at the port we specified in Aqaba and it went directly on to Petra. Drinks, wet wipes and even wifi awaited us at all time in the car. Our driver Mohamed was insanely hospitable and invited us on the way there for coffee. The ride there was very pleasant, the landscape exciting and Mohamed had many exciting stories in store. Arrived at Petra, our tour guide was already waiting for us, who led us through the canyons and explained the history of Petra to us. the highlight was the treasury and the theater. When we got back, Mohamed got us a delicious local lunch, which we ate in the car on the way to the Wadi Rum desert. Another stop was at a souvenir store, where we bought a traditional scarf and had it wrapped around our heads. After that we met with our next tour guide for the desert safari. We sat in the back of an open Toyota and enjoyed various places of the Wadi Rum desert until sunset. Afterwards Mohamed picked us up again and invited us to the end of the day to his home with his family and we finished the day with a delicious local dessert. Right on time at 21:00 we were brought back to the port of Aqaba.

This was a day we looked forward to and the company, guide, and drivers did not let us down. We were a party of 4 and had planned a day to see both Petra and Wadi Rum. Making reservations online was very easy and the company was very responsive to all of my questions prior to scheduling the day long tour. We were met right as the instructions said at the port and met our driver Youssef who drove us to Petra. He was very good about telling us about his country and things we saw along the way. Our ship was delayed with disembarking so Youssef made a point about staying on schedule. No problem for us. He was a delight and a very competent guide/driver. We stopped at a overlook of the valley and saw some stunning scenery - the entire day was filled with spectacular and stunning scenery - but we were up in the mountains and it was windy and chilly. Of course we shopped there and the people there were very helpful and so friendly. We then moved on to met our guide Moath at Petra and another delightful, competent guide with a lot of enthusiasm for the site. When you have a guide who is enthusiastic about the sites it really adds to the enjoyment during the tour. We found this to be the case the entire day - friendly, enthusiastic, professional guides. The best money we spent on our trip was here in Petra where we hired an electric golf cart to take us through Petra. They say the walk in is not that bad but we found the trail steeper and more slippery than we had heard so the cart really made our visit very efficient with no wasted time. It takes an hour to walk back up to the entrance so the cart saved us a lot of wasted time plus saved our sore legs! Our golf cart driver was very good about stopping so we could get off and talk about different things with Moath. Did I tell you Moath was the best guide ever? So enthusiastic, knowledgeable and made sure we saw everything! By renting the golf cart, we got to see the entire site down to the end so we really felt it was a special visit for us and we saw everything we wanted to see other than that trek of 860+ steps up to the monastery. No way we could have even attempted it given the day’s busy schedule. So if you book this tour, request Moath. You will not be disappointed. He’s that good and very friendly, enthusiastic and so knowledgeable.

We opted to have our lunch upgraded at the Movenpick Hotel and so glad we did that! The buffet was absolutely delicious and what a spread! Plus the hotel itself is beautiful and staff there are very accommodating. It was a nice break in the day.

Following lunch Youssef was right on time to move us on to our Wadi Rum visit. We saw the 7 pillars, camels, sand dunes, rock bridges, and had a great drive through the Wadi Rum in the back of a pickup truck, the way to really enjoy the vista. When in Rome......We were amazed at the beautiful dessert and how the colors changed with the changing sun.

We stopped on our way back to the port for coffee and tea from Youssef and I splurged on one of those uniquely Bedouin decorated ostrich eggs. A great souvenir of a great country, visit and wonderfully delightful people. You will not be disappointed booking with this company and I recommend booking a private tour. The best personal attention for the entire day.
