Do yourself a favor and give it a chance to discover the beauty of Dahab city by going to the three pools where you can snorkel with it's beautiful fishes over the colorful coral reefs, and riding a bike through the mountains around the canyon and having a city tour in Dahab !

Too many people with one guide so hard to give attention to everyone, I basically didn’t do anything there and felt that I paid money and got nothing in return

This trip was definitely tiring but very good. The places visited were magnificiant and our tour guide mr. Sayyed was quite knowledgable not only for the areas visited but also all about egyptian history. His english was the best among the many other guides i had in egypt. He was very gentle and friendly. He made the trip more enjoyable.
Just a small tip: swimming time in blue hole might be extended or 3 pools can be added as a diving session in the itinary.
