The Major War Criminals Trial was held before the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg from November 20, 1945 to October 1, 1946. As a result of this trial, Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice gained worldwide notoriety. From 1946 to 1949, 12 "Subsequent Trials" were held in the same courtroom before exclusively U. S. American military tribunals. .

Still to this day, in the southeast corner of Nuremberg, the remains of structures located on the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds impress visitors with their immense proportions and stand as vivid testimony to the megalomania of the National Socialist regime. This area of 4 square miles was intended to be an impressive backdrop for the Nazi party rallies and serve to demonstrate their power not only to Germany, but to the entire world.

Palace of Justice is CLOSED ON TUESDAY

Seba was a lively, helpful, and interesting guide. The places that we went were critical to understanding the history associated with the rise and the fall of the Third Reich. The guide made all the difference between what could have been a stale tour and was instead very much making the history come alive in a relevant way. I liked the way the tour took a nuanced approach to a complex topic.

Tour guide Rob was amazing! Nice small group tour of 7 guests. It was raining on the day of our tour and there was a large event in the grounds but Rob still got us to the historical spots and expertly timed his energetic narratives with breaks in the rain so we could get out and take photos. He also paid attention to our group’s interests and timed our stops so that we could try to spend more time at the places of higher interest. Highly recommend the tour and Rob!

I will start by saying I would recommend this tour for people without much prior knowledge and who have money to spend.

Prior to visiting Germany I did some reading on the WW2 history of the region (‘Rise and fall of the third reich’ by William Shirer - highly recommended to any who have interest in the area amongst other books) and found that I had a greater breadth of knowledge than the guide.

While Rob was enthusiastic and extremely personable, the information he provided was catered more for people being introduced to the historical background (I understood going in that the tour of course must be catered for all knowledge levels), however some of the facts noted were incorrect or dubious at best.

Considering the extremely high price for this tour, if you have any real knowledge of this period in history I would strongly recommend skipping the tour and touring yourself via public transport, driving or even walking as entry fees are not included in the price and negligible next to the tour cost which ultimately provided only convenient transport - which at that price was outrageous.

Lastly, I would recommend the tour guide team brush up further on their historical knowledge through Shirer’s book mentioned above, ‘Hitler’ by Ian Kershaw or any other recognised and detailed references on the topic to enhance their participants experiences…also they’re incredibly interesting reads!

A very good tour, a must to have a knowledgeable driver take you around as many of these sites are either very large or separated by some distance

small group tour (there were only 3 of us but I think they could have had up to 5-8) got to see various points of interest in Nuremberg relating to the rise of the Nazi party and power. We got to explore in more depth than a city tour would and the tour guide - Rob knew his history - I learned a lot.

We learned a lot on our trial tour. Rob was energetic and informative although not too professional in dress or manner. Unfortunately, we were not informed ahead of tour that part of the courtroom 600 exhibit was closed (no discount given). Also, the tour was advertised as giving participants 1 hour at the Courtroom 600 exhibit, but we were only given 35 min, not enough time to taking in this exhibit.

This was a tour offered to us through Viking cruises. So glad we took the time to do it, very informative and heart wrenching all at the same time. Our country and so many others made great sacrifices to keep the world a better place. Please let’s not forget our history and or ever make the same mistakes again. This tour is fantastic and should be seen by everyone who visits Nuremberg.

The Zeppelin field was impressive and you can imagine what it was like in the 30's. The Nuremberg war memorial and Coliseum were impressive. The Nuremberg trial museum. was very impressive. My advice would be to take the train tour first followed by this one.
