Our first stop will be at the historic town of Amarante, where you will have free time to explore it from the town´s church and Convent of São Gonçalo to the old part of the town, or even taste the pastries at one of the most iconic pastry shops. There will be a guided tour before you have the time to explore by yourself.
This will continue to Peso da Régua, where after indications from your guide, you will have free time to explore the city and have lunch in one of the numerous restaurants in the area.
Come to the Douro and not tasting the magnificent Port wine is like not coming at all. For the afternoon, we have prepared a visit to one of a famous wine estate, that will allow you to taste it.
After this, you will head to Pinhão where you will have a little free time to explore.
To finish this wonderful day we will stop, on the way to Porto, on a viewpoint, so you can have a last perspective of the amazing location, the Douro Valley.

This tour was in an 8 person mini van with pick up and drop off from our lodgings in Porto. Our family of 4 joined 2 other couples for the tour. Our host/guide/driver Ivo was very friendly and informative and gave us a full run down of what to expect on the tour plus information about the Douro Valley history and general information about Portugal. Ivo was engaging, humorous and very pleasant to spend the day with. The pace of the tour was excellent - never lagging but also not feeling rushed. The Vineyard was beautiful and the wine tasting was great. Following that was a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant that included unlimited wine and a serving of vintage port. Following lunch was a 1 hour scenic boat ride on the river. Following that was a private port tasting with a great host named Paulo. Overall the tour was excellent. Despite the fact that the Douro Valley is full of tour groups, all of our stops - wine tasting, lunch, port tasting were private to our group of 8. The exception was the boat ride but that consisted of another CM Tour group of 8 and was on CM Tours own boat.
It was a very enjoyable day and well worth the cost, which I felt was very reasonable given what was included. I would highly recommend this tour.

Very nice day! A bit of a drive to reach the area from Porto, but worth it. Well organized agenda, super organization and so interesting. Luis the guide and Antonio the driver were real pros.

The tour company needs to improve this tour by making the guide shows us around instead of leaving us in 2 cities by ourselves for more than 3 hours.
The wine tasting at the end of tour is the only thing that deserve 5 stars.

The scenery in Douro valley is gorgeous, the wine tasting is good too. We also visited the Douro valley museum which was well worth. Watch for the weather, it is no fun if it rains. We were very lucky visiting on a sunny day.
