Seeing such an amazing site for the first time - wow, words just can’t describe this experience. G was very informative and them providing thermal insulated poncho’s was genius and really saved us from being too cold.

Highly recommend this tour especially if you’re lucky to have Abe and Everett. They were very pleasant and knowledgeable regarding Haleakala as well as Hawaii in general. The views and different pre sunrise colors was well worth the 1:45am pick up! Thanks to our 2 tour guys we were one of the first to arrive to the top of the mountain allowing us to get the best spots for viewing the sunrise. They provided us all with flannel liked poncho blankets which made standing/waiting the 1.5 hours before the sunrise bearable as it was very cold on top. Abe even made a special stop to Leoda’s Pies on the return which was greatly appreciated by all!

We had a great trip with Billy and Spencer! If you are unable to get tickets to drive up on your own, this company is the way to go! They were very friendly and informative. They offered bathroom breaks and didn’t rush us. They also had water and ginger chews (for motion sickness).
As for the trip itself, saying it’s cold and windy is an understatement! Even if you take every layer of clothing you have, I’m certain you’ll still be cold. The fleece lined poncho they provided definitely helps, but it’s just plain old cold up that high!
We stopped at a spot on the way down for pics - I’m glad we did! And then they offered a quick stop at Starbucks before heading to breakfast. The breakfast was good and hit the spot after such an early/cold morning - it was a nice way to wrap up!
I highly recommend this company if you decide to do this tour!

This is the second time we have done the Haleakala Sunrise Tour and Valley Isle Excursions was more amazing than our last tour. They provided everything you need to go up on the crater, wrapped us in thick waterproof ponchos so we wouldn’t be cold (other tour groups were jealous), got us an amazing spot to see the sunrise and were all around amazing. It is a local, family owned tour company and they had an amazing amount of knowledge about the history and traditions of the island. We had Spencer and Everett and they were phenomenal!! We had an amazing time!

Valley Isle Excursions provided the best guided Sunset tour to Haleakala. Billy and Everett were fantastic.They made sure everyone had the best experience, provided excellent insights on how to get the best views of the sunrise. The warm ponchos they provided were absolutely the best and really needed by everyone. They made the early morning start really fun and the history and commentary they both provided was informative, interesting, fun and entertaining. Really was a magical tour.

This one is definitely worth it. Guides were very knowledgeable, trip is seamless. The views were worth getting up early for, nice breakfast on way back.

Spencer and Everett were both very knowledgeable and led a great sunrise tour. The tour was well organized and the tour operator was very pro-active in arranging the pick-up logistics. The ponchos were a nice touch and the breakfast was delicious. The sunrise itself was stunning - a genuine once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend this tour!

This tour was so fantastic. Yes it’s an early start but totally worth it. Spensah was a fantastic guide who shared lots of knowledge about his home and was just fun to be around. The ponchos they provide are so helpful and keep you warm at the top!! Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise with delicious food in the most beautiful setting. I highly recommend!!

We had a great time on this tour! We especially liked arriving at Haleakala before sunrise started and had options for a great view. And what a view it was!! The warm blanket ponchos that were handed out were great. Definitely wear warm clothes, hat, socks and gloves because it is cold and windy up there! The crater was amazing. Our breakfast location at Cafe O'Lei was breathtaking with the view, landscape and animals. Spencer and Everett were the best guides: great personalities, knowledge and experience. I would definitely want to be back on the tour with them both.
