First time to book on Viator. We booked a private car to pick us up at NRT as our arrival time was 800pm. Our driver MaXiaoLei patiently waited & was on time. Ride was smooth & quiet & we arrived in our hotel safely. Rated 4 stars as AC in car was not cool enough.

The driver met us at the Tokyo airport on time. He directed us to where he parked the car in lot. He was good natured. He drove well. He didn’t speak much English so no conversation necessary. He drove right up to our hotel no problem. Very good.

It was good to know that after such a long journey we had transportation to our first hotel. The vehicle was not ready for the 10 of us so we had to pullover and the driver had to install the 10th seat. Still worth having the peace of mind.

It was very hard to connect with the driver after clearing customs and the car was so small - 2 people with luggage could barely fit.

Communication could be better leading up to pickup, but ultimately the driver provided a safe and reliable means to transport my group from the airport to the hotel.
I had reached out to the company days prior to departure to confirm the vehicle could accommodate our large 10 person group and luggage and was told yes; even giving the exact number of luggage. Then hours into prior to arrival I was told we needed a bigger vehicle and WE had taken too much luggage. As you can imagine this caused a bit of stress as we were already inflight (thank goodness I had free inflight WiFi) so I could resolve with the vendor and Viator support enroute. We paid a little bit more in cash on the spot but got everyone to the hotel safely.

Its our first time in japan bit it was made easy by our driver. He asked for our pictures before we landed so he can identify us easily. It was a smooth ride all the way to our hotel. He also made sure we have the right hotel. Very respectful. Highly recommend.

Upon arrival at the terminal, clearing immigration and customs, we waited for over
2 1/2 hours for our driver. We called the 800 number, emailed several times and got no results. We walk all around the area where all the private drivers and tour guides were standing with their signs of the names of their passengers. No driver for us. We went to every information desk and counter at the terminal. The driver was paged three times. No driver. We ended up taking a taxi to our hotel. Never again will we use Viator’s private drivers. Very unsatisfied and VERY DISAPPOINTED!

So grateful and thankful that the driver waited for our arrival. The plane was late getting in and then we had an hour line to go through immigration. Was so happy to see him holding our sign with our name on it!

This was easy to use however I was unable to edit my time they wanted to pick me up. Based on customs and everything that had to be done in the terminal they only plan for 30 mins once your flight arrives before pick up. I tried multiple times to contact the agency. We had a greeter at the Airport who helped explain the situation to the driver who then waited. The drive was easy. Spoke little to no english.
