We visit the less touristy hoods around the Jean-Market on our food tour. From a single mom-no-pop shop we learn about our Latino community and sit down at a Salvadoran neighbourhood joint where locals go. We learn about the different communities that make up the area and pop into Little Italy for an iconic bakery when open.

The Jean-Talon market is the largest of its kind in the country. We try goat cheeses that are so farm to table they remind us of that scene from Portlandia. We visit a spice den, point out other great vendors, try some of the best charcuteries in the province as well as a few surprises like a forager and more depending on the season! You’ll want to go back to the market after the tour.

In Little Italy we explore the streets and area, sip third wave joe and learn about our progressive coffee scene. We head to a bean to bar award winning chocolate “factory” that will showcase some of the best stuff Montréal has to offer, period.

I really wanted to give this tour 5 stars but I want other people to know they're getting into. We usually do a city tour when in a new city and this was our first in Montreal.

It was hard to judge how to prepare for the tour - come hungry but risk being hangry after or come not hungry and then not enjoy the tastings. I came hungry and and it was just fine for me. My friends were hungry and then hangry at the end.

The tour began really nice with a stop at a restaurant (we planed to return to that restaurant later but didn't make enough effort to find our way back at the end of the tour since the tour ended in a different location than it began).

Biggest complaint from my companions was that the agenda was kind of light for the price. I booked this tour and my companions thought I was a hero after the restaurant but after that when there was no more restaurant, they were giving me the side-eye. It would have been nice to stop by more than one neighborhood restaurant (I don't want to ruin the adventure for others so I won't reveal more details) but it's more like farmer's market samples not tapas. It was also not practical to purchase food at the places we visited because (1) we didn't know how much more was coming (2) it would have unfairly slowed down the tour group. It would have been nice to have a list of shops we visited.

It is a small group so you meet fellow foodies - and that is fun. We would have never visited the booths and shops we visited on the tour on our own - so that was cool. Kudos to our guide who was really knowledgeable about the area, friendly and professional. She did an excellent job of managing different personalities. She knew what to do and kept calm when one of the guests fell.

Fabulous tour!! Chris was super knowledgeable and very friendly and made sure everyone was comfortable and included throughout the tour. We had lots of great stops with info and tastings and even a 'smelling' stop!!! I've done a lot of food tours and this is in my top 3 for sure. Lots of great personalised tips of where else to visit for everyone in the group based on their preferences too. Double thumbs up!

Chris was awesome I have a gluten-allergy and he made sure every stop was more than accommodating, even a cannoli- which was beyond fantastic. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Montreal.

I highly recommend this tour. Our guide Jeff was fantastic. His love for his city is obvious and he really wants everyone to experience all of Montreal, not just downtown and Old Montreal. The food we sampled was varied and delicious; from charcuterie meats to Salvadorian pupusas and pickled fiddlehead. Thanks Jeff!

The food tour was such an amazing experience. From the pupusa's, to a visit at Jean Talon Market, and the chocolates. Every bite was delicious and Jeff's knowledge of the city's history made the tour so memorable. It's hard to pick what food I loved the best, but I enjoyed every bite and every new piece of information about Montreal.

The guide was wonderful and we enjoyed learning about the various cultures and history. However there wasn’t much quantity of food and we were disappointed with the small amounts compared to other food tours we’ve done for the same price.
