With the entrance ticket you have the chance to relish in the fascinating art of a water puppet show, which is closely associated with the spiritual life of Vietnamese people, especially in the countryside. The show’s chosen stage is the surface of a water pool. The puppeteers present their clever skills in managing puppets by long bamboo rods and string mechanism under the surface. A traditional Vietnamese orchestra is an excellent music accompaniment.

I made the reservation for November 7th, but it was a mistake for the 6th, so I immediately called the designated tour operator to correct it and got their approval. So I went to the venue on the 6th with peace of mind, but the person with the ticket had not arrived even though it was 30 minutes before the opening. I called to ask what was going on, and they said it would be delivered in 3 minutes. When they still had not arrived 10 minutes before the opening, I called again, and they said they thought the venue was in Hanoi. Even though the reservation form clearly stated it was Ho Chi Minh... I'm at a loss for words. Their dishonesty is second to none. I regret that I should not have used such a company. I doubt I'll get my application fee back.

Fun show for adults and children, but you need some context to understand the whole story. The brochure is helpful.

It was a fabulous show. The theatre and stage set up great. The muscians were so interesting to watch and listen to, and the 'puppet' show entertaining and aamusing. Definately worth going to as part of a nholioday in HMC.

Such a fun and interesting experience! Only a short walk from district 1/ Ben Thang area. We got our tickets through Klook and we’re able to slip the line, only coast about $20 aud for entry each. Beautiful live Vietnamese music/instruments. Very entertaining and funny at times. Really enjoyed this, great way to spend an evening

I recently saw the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Show, and it was simply remarkable! The amount of detail that went into each puppet and scene, as well as the story that was being told through them, truly blew me away. It's a great way to experience traditional Vietnamese culture in an entertaining manner. Definitely recommend this show for a unique cultural experience!

Enjoyable, surreal, amusing show. No English is involved (or required) from this, you just go in and become immersed in the action on stage and the musicians/singers/narrators who also love it and clearly enjoy themselves too!
If you want to stay dry, sit toward the middle or back, haha!

First off, the show is pretty good.
However, do not buy your tickets here, go straight to the theatre, they are cheaper and it is easier. We paid $7 more to book this way and you don’t get anything for the money, you have to wait outside whilst everyone else goes in and then get sat at the back. I think it is a scam, the lady waits till the last minute then buys the tickets on bulk and doesn’t buy for no shows so pockets the extra money.

A unique puppet show which is typical of Vietnamese culture. Show is of 40 min. No where else in the world you find this type of puppetry. The puppets are moved by a stick under the water from behind the screen. Understand that it takes 4 years of training to master the craft. Good rustic music.
