Rio Favela Tour

We were so happy to have found Henry and this tour. With our hs and college age kids, was our best family activity in Brazil. It's truly educational and humbling to experience the lives lived by many Brazilians. The conversations led by Henry were thought provoking and energizing. But it also had beautiful views, great food, and a lot of fun-- starting with a thrilling ride up the mountain on the backs of motorcycles.
We got so much out of the tour. And highly recommend the tour for teens as a moment for them to better understand the world around them. Thank you, Henry.

This tour is really eye opening, Henry has great knowledge of the area and he is friendly with all the locals. Felt safe at all times. You think you have it hard? Visit this place and you’ll soon change your mindset!! I recommend this tour it’s very well done

Rodrigo was a very good guide, he even spoke a little German and fluent English. He was very knowledgeable and was always able to answer all questions...
All in all, one of the best tours we did in Brazil

Was lucky enough to have my own personal guide Ridrigo. He was awesome. Grew up in the favela and knew everyone so was entirely safe. Very cool tour

We’d give 6 stars if we could. Me & my brother had a life experience with Henry as our guide. A complex and beautiful concrete jungle. From spectacular wildlife to charming interactions with locals to the breath taking views, every twist & turn had told a new story. Henry had so many interesting things to talk about and made us feel very comfortable the whole time. I think it’ll be the best thing we’ve done here in Rio. Certainly an adventure we’ll never forget. Thank you to Henry and all of Vidigal.

This tour broke the stereotype that favelas are dangerous places to visit. Russo showed us that Brazilians are friendly, open, and beautiful people. Unforgettable day!

Henry creates fabulous memories! We hiked up and down favela Vidigal and even got a moto ride. I am sure we saw things you would never see on another tour, as Henry lives in the favela. His wife, Tais, is a wonderful chef. You will not be disappointed in booking a meal with them. My husband also took the Two Brothers hike. He said it was amazing.

Henry is the man! Learned a lot about the local favela while also taking us on a hike. He knows how to take amazing pictures.Highly recommend doing a tour with him.

This tour with Henry and Digao was extremely well done. They arranged transport on motorbike up to the top where we began the tour. Henry was very honest and informative about the realities of living in a favela. I feel like I got to know the city on a deeper level and what daily life is like. We had to leave early for another tour so Henry arranged transport to our next meeting point which was awesome for him to do. Not once did I feel like I was in an unsafe situation. I highly recommend this tour as it was very informative and laid back. I also like knowing that both Henry and Digao both give a lot back to the community they live in.
