Excellent service in both Argentina and Uruguay! First time traveling and the staff is very empathetic. The trip on the boat gives you the possibility of sailing sitting outside and thanks to that you could enjoy the sunrise, Colonia an experience between old and modern that dazzles you. It met my expectations, ideal to be able to relax, enjoy a full and quiet place.
Every day they improve more in quality of services. Super recommend!

This tour is unmissable. Colônia del Sacramento maintains its historic appearance and is very pleasant to visit. Being Uruguay it is more expensive than Buenos Aires, but it is worth it.
I bought the ticket with Colônia Ecpress, (located at Galeria Pecifico), which included a very interesting walking tour with Nataly, a great guide).
I highly recommend

Operator canceled this tour. We booked river crossing passage ourselves. Once we arrived in Colonia we saw the highlights previously identified in our own search. The city is easily explored on foot. The people and food are great, though the food is more expensive then Argentina. You clear Uruguayan customs in Argentina, and it is no big deal.

You can do this on your own. Get ferry tickets in advance at stand in Galeria Pacifico mall. Go early and return to BA at 16:30

Booked two days before and no one showed. Paid for two and there was no one at the ferry service for the tour. A SCAM. When speaking to customer service the official word from local agent was that I booked last minute?? Two days prior to tour and I booked last minute. What a joke. This company running a day trip from Argentina to Uraguay is literally collecting monies and running away. This company has no idea who is in process of investigating their operations. I am assured they will not be in business long. Don't book with them.

There is no tour, there is no tour guide! You pay your money and then are told to go the ferry terminal, where nothing happens. The ferry service has no record of your reservation, you are just screwed. Very poor communication! I have done many others good tours with Viator, but this could be my last!!!!!

If you think this is a 2 way ferry with full day tour, you’re wrong. It is 2 way if you are fast enough (I’ll explain in a bit) and the tour itself is less than 45mins!

On the way there, the ferry took 3 hours plus instead of 1-1.5 hours (it depends on who you ask). This didn’t account for the waiting time for the ferry terminal staff to start work. Was contacted by the operator to arrive 1.5hours before departure. Mine’s the 8am or 815am ferry depending on where you look at the booking (inconsistent timing). Anyway I arrived at 630am but the staff have not started work. I got in line and many others soon followed. At least 40-60 of us in line by the time they started work at 7am. There were “auto check in” machines around but not a single person was successful in checking in.

When I finally got my tickets, the name and passport number were incorrect. Counter staff gave a really cold and unsympathetic response saying she only printed the ticket and the error was made during booking. There’s no way I would make that kind of mistake because I checked and wouldn’t make multiple mistakes in a single booking. Anyway she directed me to the cashier counter which also does reservations to make the correction. I was third in line at the cashier counter and gave up on waiting as it took too long and I was afraid that I would miss my ferry. There was no information on the boarding time, was only told to go through the immigration immediately by the previous lady.

Long story short, I got through with the error on my ticket. I guess nobody checks the ticket for accuracy?

On the way back, my ferry was supposed to leave at 430pm. Again, ferry ticket had mistakes but that was the least of my problems. At 430pm, the ferry was still not at the dock. The staff made multiple announcements stating the ferry will be coming soon, in 15mins, then 1hour then 30mins, then... no announcements. Mostly in Spanish so I had to rely on random but helpful translators.

Finally, the ferry arrived at around 8pm. And guess what? 815pm was the last ferry out. I can’t help but think that they have combined the return trip ferries for cost savings. They should have told people and allow folks to make alternative arrangements such as buying a ticket from Buquebus which didn’t have any issue with punctuality. Unfortunately, they misinform. And it didn’t help that we were all in the area after immigration which didn’t allow us to leave to buy alternative ferry tickets. And the Buquebus staff who barely spoke English wouldn’t even entertain. Only commented that the ferry is full which I doubt as Buquebus had big ferries and the number of people who boarded didn’t look like it would fill the entire ferry.

When the Colonia ferry finally arrived, we had way more people trying to get on the tiny ferry. So what do you do? Everybody rushed to try to get on, the staff didn’t do a count of the number of passengers, all I know was the ferry was packed and some passengers couldn’t get on. It was chaotic, emotions run high, the military police was brought in etc. we eventually left at 9pm and arrive in BA in 1hr 15min. It was an intense ride back. I sat near the exit, eyeing on the life vests, ready to grab and rush out in case the ferry sinks.

By the way, there was a guy who missed his flight out from BA. The sad thing was that he bought the return ferry ticket on the same afternoon and was told or lied to about the delay. Long story short, the company basically lied to him, telling him the ferry was delayed by 45mins and it would depart at 515pm instead, giving him time to catch his flight.

In total, the delay was about 4.5 hours (270 minutes), longer than the actual ferry ride (2x 75 = 150 minutes) and the walking tour is 45minutes. Really despicable of this company.
