Tijuca National Park is claimed to be the world's largest urban forest, covering 39 square kilometers. We are going to spend half day exploring the best spots in the park. Tijuca National Park has a wide variety of plant and animal species, including over 300 species of birds, 2,500 species of trees and plants, around 60 species of amphibians and reptiles, and numerous species of mammals such as the capuchin monkey and the sloth. The entire park is a giant web of hiking trails and an incredible place for trekking.

An amazing belvedere located in the Tijuca National Park. This attraction is not open on weekends! The Vista Chinesa (Chinese View) is a popular viewpoint located in Tijuca National Park, situated in the hills of Rio de Janeiro. The stunning view from the belvedere is one of the city's most iconic sights, offering a panoramic view of the Tijuca Forest, Guanabara Bay, Corcovado Mountain, the Copacabana area and Ipanema. Visitors can admire lush greenery as far as the eye can see!

The biggest waterfall in the Tijuca National Park. Perfect to take some nice pictures and bath. This beautiful waterfall stands 40 meters tall, cascading down a rocky cliff into a pool of crystal water. The sound of the falling water resonates through the area, providing a calming atmosphere.

This 40 meter high cave with light streaming in creates a surreal and breathtaking atmosphere located in the heart of Tijuca Forest. We hiking around 20-30 minutes to get there! On the way we see two other caves! As you explore further into the cave, you can hear the trickle of the water flowing through the rocks and the echoes of your own footsteps. You feel a sense of awe and wonder as you take in the majestic landscape!
5.
A waterfall bath after hiking to the Bat cave can be a great way to relax and rejuvenate. It can help to soothe muscles that have been overworked!

São Conrado beach is the landing spot for hang gliding and paragliding. The beach offers spectacular views of the Pedra da Gávea mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.

If you don’t want to go all the way into the Amazon the explore the jungle, this tour is good. Tour was on a Monday morning. Get picked up from your hotel between 8am and 8:30am. The guide we had was Thalles. Real laid back and explained everything in English. He picked me up in his personal vehicle. When you enter Tijuca, you stop at some view points of the city. Next, you see some waterfalls. Make sure to bring proper shoes going up and down the dirt trails. Then, you hike up to see some caves. You can go into one called the Bat Cave. After that, you see another waterfall that you can go under. The last stop is the Chinese Pagoda View point. Great view! If you’re lucky, you might see some monkeys and coati. Got dropped off at 1pm.

Had an awesome day in Tijuca with Bernardo! Got to see the waterfalls, flora and fauna, and the cave. Bernardo helped out taking great pics all day. The Vista Chinesa at the end was amazing. Definitely take a half day to get away from city and experience the rainforest!

Wir hatten mit Eduardo den besten Guide. Top Erlebnis mit viel Spaß. Nur zu empfehlen und gerne wieder. Wir bekamen einen Einblick in das Reservat und haben Schlangen, Affen und eine wunderbare Landschaft erlebt.

Thalles was an exceptional guide through Tijuca. We had a large family group with kids and he was very kind, patient, and fun! He was open to making adjustments throughout the day, which made life much easier. We asked him to find lunch for us as well, and he recommended a great place that was fun for the whole family and joined us too.

Overall, couldn’t have been happier with Thalles as our guide!

Loved our day with Fabio. He managed to select routes that were approachable enough for our 4 and 6-year-old children but engaging and breathtakingly beautiful for the grown-ups.

We did the 4 hour Tijuca hike. Our guide took us to a stunning overlook of Rio on a short hike first. Then we explored waterfalls, cave, and the forest, it all was beautiful. Our guide Paulo was really kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this hike to travelers who want to get to know Tijuca. Next time I’ll do a full day tour! Thank you!

It was a wonderful experience with Eduardo as our guide. It ended up being just me and my wife on the day and Eduardo made it a fun and informative tour! We saw some wonderful natural wonders in Tijuca National Forest with waterfalls and caves. Can absolutely recommend! It was also mostly leisurely walks through the forest with a small hike to the caves.
