Directions to the new location for workshops held after August 1st will be sent to you at the time of making the reservation. Any reservation already made, or yet to be made for July, will be held at the current location. Thank you!

We will take you through the steps of making sushi starting with preparing the lightly vinegared rice and finishing off with the perfect sushi roll!
Together we will be making various types of sushi including Temaki-zushi which you will be able to prepare when you get back home!
At the end of the workshop everyone will be given a new sushi rolling mat (which is essential for making sushi!) and a recipe card to make sushi again so you can prepare some for your friends and family back home!

Wonderful experience with Kana and the team! We learnt a lot, ate a lot of food and enjoyed a great atmosphere with Kana and the rest of the guests.
We’d really recommend this experience if you are in Kyoto.

One of the best parts of my trip! I went with my family and we ended up having our own private lesson. We made lots of nigiri sushi and temaki hand roll. It was truly a one of a kind amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone traveling to Kyoto!

This experience is a must-do in Kyoto. Kana was absolutely amazing. From the minute we arrived we felt welcomed and comfortable. We have a 4 and 6 year old and Kana and her assistant worked to make sure the kids were keeping up with us and enjoying themselves at the same time. The sushi making itself was super fun but the conversation along the way made the experience even more delightful. Kana shared with us some of her Japanese culture and customs, and genuinely asked to know more about some of ours. This experience will be one of our most memorable.

My two daughters (ages 19 & 15) and I had the best time with Kana making Sushi in Kyoto! Everything was perfect! The location was easy to find and beautiful, Kana was sweet, charming, knowledgeable and warm. The sushi was great and we felt so welcome. Would highly recommend this class, what a treat! Learning how to make sushi was extremely fun. My brother and dad love cooking and found the experience super enjoyable. My mom and I were along for the ride and were excited to learn. Kana was extremely kind and guided us through the process of making nigiri and a hand roll, which tasted delicious. It was super fun talking to them about life while also learning how to cook. Thank you so much for the experience

The Sushi making experience with Kana and Kierin was simply awesome! The making of the sushi itself felt incredibly thorough and professional. And that it was the freshest and most delicious sushi ever was a nice added benefit! But the experience was made that much richer by Kana and Kierin's willingness to answer questions about Japan and talk about the culture and the history with us! Their openness and welcome made us feel particularly comfortable in the space. We even did a few of the activities they had recommended later in Kyoto on our own. I would really highly recommend this experience! Thanks again Kana and Kierin!

Both of the hosts were super friendly and wanted to get to know us while we were making sushi. Our instructor, Kana, was very helpful and gave clear instructions on how to make a variety of sushi. We also received a complimentary thank-you gift. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kyoto.

This was an excellent sushi making experience. The hosts were very friendly and gave us tons of information. The location is super clean, light and airy.
The ingredients were plenty and delicious, so go with an empty stomach!
