Cockburn's large aging warehouse is the most extensive in the entire historic center of Vila Nova de Gaia, housing 6,518 Port Hulls that age under its huge roof, being one of the only ones to have its own crew of coopers.

Cockburn's Ports are carefully aged in oak casks and ferries and are accompanied by a team of tasters and oenologists until they reach their ideal maturity.

The impressive scale of Cockburn's warehouse allows you to house a large amount of Aging Special Reserve, to develop its unique style and perfect balance, acquired by more time of aging in wood than any other Reserve Port.

Really impressive, interesting tour. We gained a real sense of history, our guide Barbara was extremely knowledgeable. The tasting was great with Barbara talking us through the different ports. Wonderful to have a real guide rather than an audio experience.

Excellent value, very informative, fun classic tasting tour. We had a great time and liked that at the end you could buy extra drinks or food from the bar. We purchased a white port to try. Very impressive cellar. The Coopers weren't working when we visited which was a shame.

I have been on quite a few visits to a number of different lodges and our guide was more clear and informative than any other. I now feel I have a clear understanding of the different types of port, and how long they can be kept before and after opening. I now know which I like best and why.
There was a pleasant unhurried ambience too. Time well spent, thank you.

This was a very informative tour and I felt like I learned some things about Port that I didn't know before. The tour begins with hearing about the family that owns Cockburn's along with a tour of the facility which includes seeing the barrels, the cooperage (which is very interesting) and the extensive collection of aged Ports they have there along with an excellent explanation of how the Ports are made and aged. It concludes with the tasting and I chose the Premier experience that comes with a higher end selection of Ports, as well as a chocolate pairing. I had never had white Port before, and was very happy this tasting included one. I don't think a visit to Porto would be complete without a visit to one of the Port Cellars, and this is definitely a great one to visit.

Although our tour was arranged by a friend back home who is a wine importer, I think it was the basic tour, although the wines and ports we tasted after wards I believe were customized for us.
The tour was top notch, very informative, very good tour guide, just long enough, fascinating (they have unopened bottles of port from 1861 and ports still aging in vats since the 1930's.)
Afterwards we went to their nice simple garden and had some snacks and drinks.
Highly recommended.

The visit is great! The place is large and magnificent. The guide in French is very kind, he explains well and takes his time. Ports can be ordered for shipping. A beautiful terrace under the vines to enjoy a Pastéis or port. I recommend the port ginger cocktail!!! Thanks to the French guide!!!!

Our Tauck tour took us here for a port making tour and tasting. I’m not a port fan, so I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious all their offerings were. Igor was our tour guide. He was informative and funny! Definitely recommend.

The tour was very good and the guide was very informative.
It was not a problem to ask questions and he engaged with all the tour party.
Well worth the money and would recommend this over others that we have been on.
Most of all was the Port and chocolates, what a way to end the tour.
So much so that we had to order another couple of ports!
