Our Taste Of Africa is offered in 2 of the most Afro-cosmopolitan areas in Joburg rich in African cuisine.
Yeoville (3pm)-one of the most diverse suburbs in South Africa, known for being highly Afro-cosmopolitan with many African nationals found in one square mile and a rich history due to the migration into South Africa.
Maboneng-(12pm & 5pm ) a new suburb in Johannesburg which is home to Art, Culture,graffiti and a variety of African foods
Both these areas offer great experiences when it comes to african cuisine.Our Taste of Africa experience will give you a taste of the continent with no visa requirements or expensive flights.
The experience will offer guests the ability to try a variety of different African foods from
- South African meals
- Ghanaian
- Nigerian
- Cameroonian
- Zimbabwean
- Congolese
Each food tasting will include at least 4 dishes we will be trying on the day.
You can also include African beer tasting with your booking to enjoy the beers on the continent.

There is a lot of poverty in South Africa. This group of gentlemen have worked to start this business and have a great story. They take you through a neighborhood that is being revitalized. There were four different cuisines. The food was okay. The restaurants were a little shady looking. Very much hole in the wall joints. It was interesting to learn the history of the neighborhood.

An awesome experience; it was two tours in one! Not only do you get to taste different cuisines, you get to walk through and learn about the wonderful Marboneng neighborhood.

Had a fantastic experience, not only did I try some delicious food, but also saw amazing street art and had a great insight into the South African culture. I also felt I was off the beaten track with few, if any other tourists getting to experience the incredibly vibrant local area

Both our driver and the guide were knowledgeable and friendly. It was a walk around a thriving area of town with fantastic graffiti and art moments scattered throughout. The intro to the different foods was quite enjoyable as we visited different country's restaurants. They were very small and locally owned and operated. That made the experience even more authentic, and the food was quite delicious. I would recommend the tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Found this tour on TA and booked it after texting them on what’s app. Driver arrived on time and off we went. Eunice was my guide but driver tagged along and was so fun. Really enjoyed hearing about Maboneng etc. We saw lots of art murals and tried food from Nigeria, Ghana; Ethiopia ; and South Africa.
Great experience for my first day here

Our guide Romeo was excellent. The street murals were amazing works of art. Maboneng is vibrant and on the way to becoming a wonderful district.

Nokia did an amazing job at showing us the beautiful art that was in the Maboneng precinct. I had never seen such street art before. The food was great too. Make sure to come hungry!

We bought this experience for our friends who celebrated their 60th birthday. They reported that their guide was knowledgable and most pleasant and that it was an interesting experience for them to walk and learn so much about the city. The buildings and art was interesting for them, as well as the history.
They found the eating experiences different and the food tasty. They visited only three restaurants Nigerian, Ethiopian and Ghana and not all the restaurants listed. We also paid for a beer tasting, but they only had South African beers offered to them so did not feel they had that experience. They mentioned that it was a lot of walking and that when they were finished they were quite relieved. But overall, it was a good experience for them and not something they would have done themselves.

We had a wonderful time with Nkosi! He was so fun and knowledgeable!! Loved trying new foods and beers as well as hearing about the history of Johannesburg and beyond.

We decided to book a food tour to try out new things. This tour was beyond our expectations. We had Eunice as our guide and she was wonderful! She gave us an amazing tour and pointed out absolutely beautiful artwork. The food was phenomenal as well. I would highly recommend this tour!
