This tour, by Due South Travels, is a 2+ hour guided walking tour of Antigua, one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Our local guide will give you tons of great information, including the history of the city and its architecture, the geography, culture, and religion of historical and modern day Guatemala.
During the tour we will visit and discuss Antigua's significant landmarks. We will talk about the volcanoes and earthquakes Guatemala has experienced, the Mayan ethnic groups, the Spanish invasion, and modern day life here.
We are different from the four hour walking tours offered in town because we don't take you shopping (too much pressure!), however, our local guides would love to bring you AFTER the tour if you'd like a thorough explanation of jade or if you're interested in bargaining for some beautiful handicrafts. You'll also receive plenty of other suggestions for things to do in and around town.

Great tour and Galileo is a very knowledgeable and personable guide. Walk was 2.5 hours and we saw most of Antigua.

Excellent walking tour with knowledgeable, friendly and considerate guide, Luis. Totally enjoyed this two-hour tour; learned a lot about the history of this beautiful area, its people and culture. Luis speaks several languages, but he's also gracious and patient enough to let you practice your Spanish (if that's not your native language.)

Our guide Mirla was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing the history of Guatemala. She was fun and full of so much info. A great way to see the city with more context. Definitely recommend.

Tons of variety in this walking tour. Get local recommendations for restaurants or experiences during your stay in Antigua as well as learning some history and language as well. Pacing is leisurely and inclusive for the group, and the guide, Luis, was kind and knowledgeable. Would recommend.

Extremely disappointed with our experience booking a private walking tour of Antigua. Despite arriving promptly at the agreed meeting time, the guide was nowhere to be found. After multiple attempts to contact the agency, we were informed that the tour was cancelled due to unforeseen issues with the guide. Not only was this last-minute cancellation unacceptable, but the lack of communication and warning beforehand wasted valuable time during our visit. Cancelling 25 minutes after the scheduled departure time is simply unacceptable. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, better communication and accountability from the agency would have been appreciated. Would not recommend booking with them.

I booked a private tour of Antigua. Couldn't find the guide when I got to the meeting point, so had to call the tour company to alert the guide.
The guide seemed really bored and not interested in doing this tour. Luckily I had done some research ahead of time and followed a few Youtube posts yo know what to expect.
However I did learn about some beautiful buildings eith unique decorations and history.
Taking me to places that did the hard sell at the end was annoying. I had no cash or credit card on me to buy "stuff" so they were all annoyed.

If you’re really interesting of knowing the culture and history of Guatemala, this is your tour, our guide Cristina was really nice and she really knows her history, she gave us a lot of information and answers all our question. She also took us to a market to support local artisans, everything was beautiful.
