Fresh ingredients, everything from scratch, flavors of our traditional Mexico; in a beautiful Mexican-style house, surrounded by gardens, everything is set and carefully hand-picked for you to enjoy and live an authentic cultural and gastronomical immersion to the deepest traditions and roots of our ancient Mexican cuisine. Our gastro-cultural experience starts off with a brief introduction to the essential flavors and ingredients of Mexican cuisine, follow by a mezcal tasting, where we will learn, superficially, about its main characteristics and the right way to taste it.
Then, in an ambiance full of joy, music and laughter, we will prepare a full menu with sides, salsa and fruit water "agua fresca"
The preparation of tortillas and quesadillas is from scratch, as well as quesadillas, for which we always use artisanal cheese.
By the end of the class, we sit down in one table to share the food we just prepared and the experience itself! Mi casa es tu casa, you are always welcome!

Do yourself a favor and learn how to cook with Tia Lily. She is fantastic with amazing energy and knowledge. This was one of the best experiences ever. You will leave full of new skills and full of delicious food.

I enjoyed learning about the history of corn tortillas and about other Mexican history. Lily was such a good hostess and her assistants were kind. My friends and I really loved the class and enjoyed dancing to the music, chatting, and cooking together.

Everything was amazing! The hostess was all the things! Kind, fun, knowledgeable, informative, etc. I learned how to cook foods that I enjoy, everything tasted amazing, and the beverages were perfect. I would recommend this activity to everyone!!!

My friends and I had so much FUN with Tia Lily! She really made us feel like family and guided us really well on how to make our DELICIOUS dinner. Her bright and bubbly personality really made this experience so enjoyable for my friends and I and we felt so safe with her. When we come back to Tulum, we will definitely be going back to Tia Lily!

This was a fantastic experience. Claudia was our host/chef, and she welcomed us immediately when we arrived, offered us delicious watermelon water, and asked us about our experience with Mexican food and what our favorites were. When all the guests had arrived, she started explaining how she was going to be making all the food (two different salsas, tacos, quesadillas, ceviche, and strawberries with cream. She did most of the work but we got to make the tortillas and do a little bit of the prep work. It was a good balance of us contributing but not having to do too much chopping and other prep. She was very knowledgeable about why certain ingredients were used and the traditions around the various foods. Best of all though, she seemed to truly love doing the demos and spending time with all of us (about ten people). I am totally blind, and I didn't share this info with her before my arrival. She was totally unphased (most people get nervous or awkward), and she was easily able to do the tiny amount of adapting of the activity that I needed to fully participate. This was probably the highlight of my trip to Tulum.

I can’t begin to explain what a fantastic experience this was. Lily’s energy and beauty is infectious. She is smart, knowledgable, and hilarious. I felt like family and learned a great deal about Mexican cooking and culture. Simply this is a one of a kind experience and fun.

Lily was a good teacher and very kind. She showed us how to make pico de gallo, guac, ceviche, tortillas, quesadillas, and tacos al pastor. The food was delicious and she was very helpful in teaching us.
The only thing I would recommend changing is having us cook and prepare more of the food, a lot of the food was discussed and we prepared part of it and then it was taken away to be made by her assistant (like the tacos al pastor, guac, pico de gallo, quesadillas). If you desire a more hands on class, something to consider.
We had a great time with Lily, learning from her and would recommend this class! Enjoy :)
