LET'S GET OUT OF THE TOURIST AREA where it is super busy and crowded with people!
My tour focuses on Ueno, which is not as crowded as Shibuya and Shinjuku and is less touristy. It is also famous with Japanese foodies for "anytime you eat and drinks"
I'm going to take you to popular bars and restaurants for ONLY LOCALS (NO TOURISTS!!) where the staff speaks only Japanese. I will order signature dishes!
We will visit 4 taverns in total, where you will sample sashimi, grilled fish and skewered meat, etc. You will also have the opportunity to try UNIQUE Japanese alcoholic drinks (5 or more different type of drinks), so I think customers drinkable are more ENJOYABLE for the tour as the tour is designed for adults.
Also, you'll be able to experience what Japanese taverns are like. After visiting these 3 taverns, we will end the tour at a great Ramen shop that is popular with locals. At the end of the tour, I will explain which train station you need to go, depending on where you go.

We had an amazing time exploring Ueno with Akira and his assistant on the food tour. It truly felt like discovering the local side of Japan, with authentic Japanese cuisine at every stop. Akira and his team were fantastic hosts, especially accommodating our friend who doesn't drink, ensuring he still felt fully included in the experience. We savored delicious ramen, fresh sushi, a variety of meats, and enjoyed sampling a selection of excellent Japanese drinks along the way. It was a delightful culinary adventure, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to delve into Tokyo's vibrant food scene

This tour was amazing! Aki was very fun and entertaining as well as being a wealth of knowledge about Japanese food and culture. The food was absolutely incredible as well. I would highly recommend to any visitors to Tokyo.

This was a great tour. Aki was friendly, fun, and quick with a joke. It was amazing to see local places I never would have found on my own. And Aki's little game of Guess the Mystery Meat was fun and surprisingly tasty, even after we figured out what we were eating!

This tour is an excellent introduction to foods in Japan that you don't see in other countries. And it's in a neighborhood for local Japanese business people. None of these restaurants are tourist traps. Akira is a superb host and guide. Book this tour — you won't regret it!

Aki was a great guide. Unfortunately, I was the only person booked on this afternoon slot. Aki offered to squeeze me into the later one, but I wasn't available. I would have completely understood if Aki wanted to cancel rather than run it for one person, but he was completely committed to doing it and I had the benefit of his undivided attention. The food and drinks were very good and Aki takes you to places that you would never find (or dare go in) on your own. Aki is a great character and very personable. I would highly recommend this tour.
