On this tour we feel and experience the volcanic origins of the Island in Furnas, a magical place. We start by visiting the Caldeiras da Lagoa das Furnas (Furnas Lake Calderas), a place where we cook the famous “cozido das Furnas” (a very special meal cooked only with the steam of the Earth) and continue with a soft walk that crosses a stream and circles the lakeside. During this walk we have the opportunity to appreciate a variety of endemic flora species.

Absolutely fabulous day out! The group of about 20 was split into two separate mini-vans with separate guides - my husband and I were in the van with Marie who was absolutely amazing!! The stops were just the right length of time so we saw everything we wanted to but never got bored! The highlights for us were retrieving our restaurant’s pot of lunch from the hole it had been cooking in for 8 hours, and seeing the botanical gardens!

Great trip, wonderful local guide!
The trip starts with a visit to a tea plantation which is really nice and relaxing. Then you head to the area with volcanic activity and see lots of pools bubbling angrily was boiling water.
Finally a trip to the hot baths which are really relaxing and surrounded by amazing gardens full of tropical plants.
The guide tells you all about the Island and it's history, fauna and flora. The views are gorgeous. Its a lovely and relaxing way to spend a day with plenty of time at every location

You won't be disappointed.
Bring your bathing suit.. NOT WHITE OR LIGHT COLOURED. The orange water stains anything light.

We had an amazing time despite the fog and heavy rain. Our guide Felipe was very knowledgeable. The lunch was delicious.
The only disappointment (not the guide’s fault) was the bathing experience at Terra Nostra. They are currently refurbishing and some areas are closed and they didn’t have a suitable changing room area.
Overall a fantastic worthwhile experience.

A nice day at Furnas visiting the many interesting sites, including the Coizido lunch and thermal spring experience at Terra Nostra. Travelled with a lovely group of other people and our guide was well versed in the areas we visited.
Recommended to anyone visiting San Miguel island.

Great day at a great place. We make sure to visit every time. One of my favorite places since I was 5 years old. I recommend everyone to visit. In addition to it it's so good for your skin and overall health. Lots of minerals to help your skin.

Great trip with Miguel as our wonderful guide. There were 8 of us in total which made for an amazing small van tour. Miguel was very informative and interesting - always available to answer all your questions. The scenery was spectacular.

Outstanding 9-6 all day tour to Furnas. Every stop a good one. Amazing lunch included. Highlight was experiencing one of the thermal pools. Nuno was an excellent driver and tour leader.
