This excursion includes an itinerary in stages to let you know and appreciate places of particular natural value within the reserve of the Etna Park up to an altitude of about 2000 meters. Thanks to the experience of our staff, on board of 4x4 vehicles you will live an interesting and at the same time fun experience. Starting from the lava flows that threatened entire villages, we will visit the extinct craters and the viewpoint of the majestic Valle del Bove. We will descend into the meanders of the volcano visiting a lava flow cave (lava tube) equipped with a helmet and speleologist lights. The tour will end with a tasting of Sicilian specialties.
IMPORTANT NOTES: If you have a car we recommend that you reach our meeting point in Trecastagni in MontataGrande.
LANGUAGE: During the high season there may be overbooking of reservations for one language. In this case, a tour leader speaking the selected language will be guaranteed in the scheduled stages of the tour.

Fascinating tour of mid-Etna 1690’s eruptions (craters), massive 1991 lava flow (Bola valley) , lava tibe. Tastings at end were nice and light lunch was even better. Our guide was enthusiastic, attentive and very knowledgeable. Beautiful flora too. While this tour doesn’t go to very active (at the time of our tour) lava fountains at top (compare with Hawaii Mauna Loa helicopter tours), it was way more interesting than Haleakala (Maui) summit.

Allesio was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable. The sunset was amazing. Not labor intensive-which is what I was looking for since traveling with my mom and children.

Un'esperienza che consigliamo a tutti coloro che desiderano dedicare una giornata alla scoperta dell'Etna. Abbiamo scoperto il tour navigando in rete, alla ricerca di una escursione guidata. Le nostre aspettative sono state ampiamente ripagate. Abbiamo raggiunto agevolmente il luogo di partenza, l'agriturismo MontataGrande in località Trecastagni, raggiungibile dall'uscita Paesi etnei dell'autostrada A18 Messina/Catania. Fabrizio, la nostra guida, si è distinto per competenza e passione, con spiegazioni competenti, puntuali e appassionate di tutti gli aspetti inerenti ai luoghi visitati: dalla formazione dell'Etna, a quella dei crateri, passando per la geologia, la botanica e gli eventi storici che hanno maggiormente modellato il paesaggio circostante. Il tour si è concluso con il ritorno all'agriturismo MontataGrande, dove avevamo prenotato un wine tasting con degustazione di prodotti locali. L'esperienza si è rivelata l'ennesima piacevole sorpresa, grazie alla ottima qualità dei prodotti (trovate ampia descrizione sul sito), nonché alla competenza e alla gentilezza di Maria, che ci ha accompagnato attraverso questo percorso enogastronomico, descrivendo con passione i quattro vini e relativi abbinamenti che ci sono stati proposti. Precisiamo che è in ogni caso inclusa una ampia degustazione dei prodotti locali venduti dall'azienda, che consente anche di ordinare online. Unica nota sfortunata, la mancanza del numero di scarponcini da trekking per nostra figlia, che avevamo prenotato online per tutta la famiglia insieme a giacche a vento e bastoncini da trekking per i bimbi. Con qualche prevedibile difficoltà dovuta al terreno, l'escursione è stata comunque fattibile. In ogni caso, Maria, preso nota del numero di scarponcini mancante, ha immediatamente confermato che la quota pagata sarebbe stata stornata. Abbiamo acquistato diversi prodotti, da un vino rosso propostoci alla degustazione, a un delizioso rosolio al finocchietto, inclusa crema di pistacchio e peperoncino piccante spalmabile. L'indomani, Maria ha avvisato dispiaciuta che nel conto si era dimenticata di stornare la quota degli scarponcini, così come di addebitare un delizioso arancino al ragù acquistato extra menu. Non abbiamo nemmeno verificato il conto ricevuto, limitandoci a pagarlo, tanta è stata la soddisfazione. In ogni caso, il messaggio di Maria è stato gradito e si è risolto il tutto con una compensazione a posteriori e l'augurio di rivederci in un futuro prossimo.

The Guides were communicative and friendly, and overall, the trip was well planned a very enjoyable. Though I must admit I expected a bit more "offroad experience" judging by the photos, except for a few parts where the jeeps were actually tested, they seems like unnecessary addition rather than the main theme of this trip. Overall it was good, but I had higher expectations due to numerous images from more secluded areas which I don't think were part of it

We had an incredible time with our guide, Francesco. He catered the tour to our interests and abilities, and was SUPER knowledgable about "Mama Etna". This was by far our favorite experience while staying in Catania. The lunch and wine after was so delicious--I really recommend adding this on! It was also very easy to find the spot for our transfer from Catania to the company. They also had shoes and jackets for rent, which was very helpful as we packed for warm summer weather. I highly recommend this experience!

Die Tour war super! Sie ist für jeden sehr gut geeignet. Man muss nicht viel wandern und sieht trotzdem alles. Die Guides waren super. Sie haben immer wieder was erklärt und man hat gemerkt, wie der Etna sie fasziniert :)
Die Tour hat insgesamt 5 Stunden gedauert und alles lief so wie wir uns vorgestellt haben. Danke für diese Erfahrung

Great tour with knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides. The meeting spot can be quite hard to find, but it is a little cafe/food shop set back from the road so a spot for coffee before start. Driven to the side craters and an explanation of how they are formed with amazing views over Catania and Taormina. Then driven to a lava tunnel where we put on hard hats (provided) and walked through a lava tunnel, again with an explanation of how they form and the importance of lava tunnels on how far lava can flow. Next a cross country drive to another spot on the south of Etna to see how the side of Etna collapsed and how people now manage lava flows. Finally back to the start where the tour finished but we stayed on and bought a fantastic lunch before moving on.
