Experience the Golden Age of Hollywood with Turner Classic Movies!

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood and Turner Classic Movies have partnered up to introduce the TCM Classic Films Tour. This new tour features bespoke clips from TCM hosts, visits to areas of the lot that are not part of the regular tour (including the Property Department and Rose Garden), and TCM-branded tour carts. This classics-themed tour focuses on Warner Bros. Golden Age of Film and TV, featuring award-winning titles that shot on the iconic backlot from the early days of the Studio through the 1970s.

A specially trained Tour Guide, with the help of the hosts from Turner Classic Movies, will guide guests through the Studio Tour themed to iconic classic movies and TV shows from the early days of the Studio through the 1970’s. While on tour, guests will visit the familiar places and spaces where movie magic has been happening for more than 100 years.

Craig was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable! My husband is a huge TCM and generally around movie buff and was super impressed. This tour was worth every penny. We were so impressed we are going back to take our son who is an aspiring film student. Loved it!

I enjoyed learning about different aspects of the movie making process but I thought there was some superfluous stories. I am a person who likes more of the facts about the studio and the stars and locations.

Tour had very little to do with TCM. Not as promoted on TCM. Provided snacks for 20 minutes which was a waste. Then rode the cart and stopped at a swamp for 20 min. Then onto the building facades for 20 min. Just sitting in the cart or standing in the vicinity with the tour guide. Then to the props dept which was fun but short and then on to the set of “Nightcourt”

No old movie sets. It was a “Friends” and “Harry Potter “ branded tour.

I am severely disappointed in TCM as a long time fan of the channel.

Don’t waste your money

Don't pay extra for the TCM tour. Just don't. You don't get to see any more than you do on the regular tour. And unless you are completely brand new to classic movies, you don't learn anything new or interesting. You drive around in a golf cart with very limited opportunities for photos. The TCM hosts provide a 3 minute intro, and that's it. It's seriously embarassing. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Do NOT take this tour. TCM hosts Ben and company are gawking a tour that is nothing like what was advertised. You got free water and that’s about to distinguish the tour. Might stop watching TCM and they are trying to make a buck. What is your take Ben? Alicia? Eddie? Dave? Have you been on the tour you advised? Shame on you Thought we could trust you guys

This was a great experience. Would recommend for anyone to try. It was amazing to learn how the industry produces our entertainment. The thing I appreciated was the group was not so large you felt that you were able to ask questions and not feel rushed.

I spent the extra money for the VIP tour; was told to park at the top level of their garage because they had an event going on and that I'd get valet parking. Sat in my vehicle for 10-15 minutes until I was told to leave it where it was. Made it to the tour where I was given access to a lounge with coffees, teas, pastries, chips. etc to nosh on before the tour. We were ushered into a small theater and got a brief history of WB's classic film history and then were off onto the golf cart to ride around a bit (our tour guide Jack was knowledgeable and friendly). Unfortunately, the event being held was an industry expo and there were an extra 12,000 people on the lot that day, so many of the backlots were unavailable. No Casablanca exteriors or anything.
We stopped off in their prop department and got to see a LOT of their stock (only some of it readily identifiable or marked from specific films), we visited a sound stage and saw the set from the rebooted Night Court, but so did all the other tours. Not much to connect it to TCM other than the placards outside identifying some of the classics filmed there. In the end, we got dropped off to a Friends-themed snack bar and were also encouraged to check out some behind the scenes stuff (a few classic film costumes were nice to see), but in the end, I still excited through the gift shop (which had a pretty good inventory--not everywhere you can find a t-shirt with the Maltese Falcon on it!) after seeing a bunch of Harry Potter and DC comics stuff that I mostly didn't care about (Linda Carter's Wonder Woman costume and Christopher Reeve's Superman costume were the only things I was interested in). In the end, I had to wait about 15 minutes for the valet to find my car in the overflow of double-parked cars.
I wish they would have called off tours for the day and made it feel like a "normal" day on the lot where we could have gotten a better feel for the day to day of the lot. I hope that they add more TCM-related content to future tours, because I felt like my experience was more than a little lackluster.
