Had a wonderful day out on Bellarine wineries on Easter Saturday. Perfect weather. We did 3 wineries and had a short browse in Port Arlington as well. The Hop It service is punctual, the communication during the day was excellent as well. You need to make your own booking for lunch, tastings etc before you go. I suggest you do this early as you can, as lunch spots can be popular. Sara was great with her advice and information, both before the trip and on the day. The only disappointing factor for us was that we booked the ferry both ways through Hop It, but the ferry company sold the Hop It allocation of tickets. We returned on the ferry. We still had a great day, and travelling by bus from Melbourne gave us an earlier start to the day on the Bellarine.

We highly recommend this tour! It was an excellent way to go from one vineyard to another, and our tour guide was so informative and fun. Be sure to make bookings for winetasting beforehand, i.e. plan ahead where to go using the Hop on hop off-timetable for the bus. We managed to go to three wineries, and I think that is maximum what you can squeeze in to fit with the ferry from and to Melbourne.

This is the second hip it tour we have done and it was just as fantastic as the first! Great variety of wineries and breweries on the tour. Our guide Ali was so friendly and accommodating! We had a great day. We love the fact with HopIt that you can pick your own tours and places to eat. This flexibility means that you can creat the day you want which is different to other tours. We spent time at Bennetts and Jack Rabbit and would recommend a visit to both.

The blue route with ferry option is a great option if you're looking to have a half day out of Melbourne on the Bellarine. You get a maximum of 3 x 1 hour stops, with plenty of variety (wine, beer, spirits).
The Hop It service is excellent as always. There is a dedicated route driver based in Geelong.
The 3 x 1 hour is definitely fast-paced, but a way to get out of the house without going overboard on the food and drinks.
There is better value in choosing the Geelong departure, as you get up to 5 stops or can at least slow down a little. Once the Geelong line is reopened from the Level Crossing work, it's definitely doable to go up and back to Geelong. Especially with the Saturday Myki fare cap ($6.30?). But the trade-off is that it's definitely a long full day out.
