We’ll hike between 4 - 6 miles (5 - 10 KM) depending on how we are doing on time, with an elevation gain of 493 meters (1600FT). You’ll learn about flora & fauna, geology, Scottish history and nature. Pentlands offer stunning views over the whole of Edinburgh and Lothian region, the Borders and Fife. You'll also see Scottish Lochs (Lakes). We'll go at the pace of everyone in the group and take breaks as needed.
We might be able to spot the illusive Highland Cows (Hairy Coos), if everyone in the group is okay to hike that direction as it is a steeper climb.

Rishi is an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable. He was on time. He brought snacks and water. He moderated our pace as needed. He Got us out of the city so that we could see the beautiful countryside. We loved this experience!

Rishi was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and experienced and kept us engaged the entire time. The hike itself was intermediate + for me. I’m 63 and reasonably fit, I was challenged and glad to reach the summit. 1600’ elevation in the first two hours. The journey down was more leisurely, thank goodness! I highly recommend this trip for active tourists as you will also learn a great deal about Edinburgh and the surrounding area.

The Hill and Nature hike with Rishi was a high point of our visit to Scotland. Rishi is very knowledgeable and generous and we learned so much about the beautiful Pentland Hills of Scotland. Two highlights were seeing Highland Cows and the beautiful view from the top of the peak we climbed. We are very happy we took this hike and we recommend it.

Rishi was a superb guide. He was knowledgeable, patient, and enjoyable. Our group consisted of various levels of hiking skill and Rishi made all of us feel capable and comfortable. In addition, he carried drinks and snacks for us all. The hike was fabulous thanks to him. I highly recommend that anyone who spends any time in Edinburgh should make the time to do this hike with Rishi.

Great hike to see the natural beauty of Scotland! The hike is very steep so hiking poles are recommended if you are not an experienced hiker. Rishi is very knowledgeable and provided a history of the area; a description of the geographical landscape including the flowers, trees. and grasses; along with the birds and animals. We saw highland cows, sheep, and heard several different birds. He provided a great selection of snacks with bottled water. This is one hike not to miss while you are visiting Edinburgh!

One of our favorite days in Scotland! The scenery was gorgeous-we saw every shade of green, waterfalls, sheep and highland cows! It was a wonderful contrast to the city where we were staying plus we got some exercise as an added bonus. Rishi is a perfect guide!

We really enjoyed this spectacular hike with Rishi. He is a phenomenal guide and provided us with a thorough education about the Pentlands. Rishi paid attention to the abilities and needs of the group and constantly checked in on the welfare of all of the hikers. He was prepared for every eventuality and carried hiking poles, warming blankets, snacks and water for our group. The views in the Pentlands were incredible and we got some great photos.
