I will explain and demonstrate how to make each design step by step. This class is for suitable for someone who wants to have a unique experience, and also someone who wants to seriously learn the techniques and improve their skills for future use.

I joined for the Nerikiri class and it was just wonderful. It was so fun to create these small and delicate treats. Nariko was a great teacher and even the contact before class was great!

The nerikiri making class is the most fun activity we have done in Japan. The entire family loved it, from my husband and I to our 11 and 14 year olds. The class consisted of 7 people. Nariko had the dough pre-prepared, so we got to do the fun part. She is polite, patient and I am so impressed by how well structured and clear her instructions are. Looking at the beautiful examples of nerikiri Nariko made, I really did not think I would be able to make mine look anything like that, but the way she taught us helped all of us in the class create nerikiri that, although a far cry from her perfect ones, looked quite pretty!
After finishing the nerikiri, Nariko taught us how to make matcha tea. Not all the formal, traditional steps, because we focussed our time on the nerikiri, but enough to get foaming matcha to drink while eating one of the nerikiri we made. It was lovely to chat with Nariko and the other students while eating dessert.
My daughter has already decided she is going to make nerikiri for her birthday party when we get back home! We will be looking out for Nariko’s classes again the next time we are in Japan. Nariko, you are amazing. Thank you for a wonderful time!

What a wonderful surprise! We have done several cooking classes around the world and the Nekiri class was great. There were only 4 students and we received personal attention while learning new skills. When I saw what we were going to make, I was doubtful mine would even come close to the example. The pace of the class was perfect and it was well organized. She has mastered the craft and is great at teaching others. We will do another class here if we are back in the area.
