I had booked a driver to meet us at the Madrid airport because my teens and I would have flown 28 hours and we’d be tired.
We were held up because one suitcase took a long time and the driver left. I said I would pay more to account for his waiting time, but he’d already left.
So I asked for a refund, they said no.
I tried to compromise and ask for 50% refund and never heard from them again.
I figured their insurance would cover these things and am disappointed they didn’t entertain the idea of a refund. I get it that the luggage wasn’t their problem, but they had sent their driver to wait too early in my opinion (10 mins after landing time), which makes me wonder if they do that on purpose to get the $$.
I ended up getting the nicest taxi driver ever, and realised that the trip I had booked and wasn’t refunded for was $30 more than the actual taxi fare cost.
Don’t bother booking a car service. The taxis are well run, plentiful and cheaper.

I tried to find details of the coach link between Madrid Airport and Alcala de Henares, but could only see really old reviews. So here is an up to date review. The service is great. Bus no 824 stops outside terminals 1 and 2/3. It departs every half hour during the week and every hour at weekends. It takes about 40 minutes into the centre of Alcala and coasts € 3.60. Pay in cash or use a Madrid Metro/Bus card. The bus journey avoids all the effort and expense of catching a metro into the centre of Madrid and the train out to A de H. I recommend it. Also Alcala is a beautiful town and every tourist to central Madrid should take a day out...

Taxi company tried to rip me off for 16 euro. I paid Viator for 4 bags of luggage and for 4 passengers. Taxi company wanted 16 euros for my luggage. I only had 4 bags (2 for me and 2 for my wife). I reported it to Viator.

Don’t buy this tour. They handle flight delays and changes horribly. They are completely unhelpful and take forever to show up. Uber was far superior and much cheaper. Staff not knowledgeable at all besides not being helpful. Uber was super convenient. Biggest mistake I have ever made. Finally gave up waiting and calling for 30 to 40 minutes and took an Uber. Totally wasted my money and never even received the service.
