Locals love this unfussy bar for its custom tramezzini sandwiches with high-quality Italian ingredients. This is the place where most people working in the Rialto area stop for lunch or for a quick break.

Time for an introduction to cicchetti, Venice’s famous tapas-like bites, at a family-run bar. Enjoy two local favorites paired with a drink.

Step into the heart of Venice’s food scene: the Rialto Fish Market. As you peruse the overflowing aisles, your guide will explain how ancient trade routes and a strong maritime history have shaped the diets of Venetians, and how they still get the freshest fish from the Mediterranean.

From there, you'll step into a bright, friendly little shop for a street-food style take on Venetian seafood made with products fresh from the nearby market.

Head to the locals’ bacaro (wine bar) of choice for an aperitif in the Rialto area. They’re known for their high-quality light bites and spritzes, which you’ll try for yourself.

The fastest way to travel in Venice is by water. You'll hop on a gondola for a short ride to cross the famous Grand Canal with your guide en route to Cannaregio. Formerly the city’s Jewish Ghetto, today it’s where locals go to eat, drink and socialize.

After a short ride in a gondola to cross the Grand Canal, it’s time for lunch! Tucked down a tiny side street, this cozy modern bacaro is one of Venice's best-kept secrets. Dig into freshly prepared risotto and sip a glass of wine.

Your tour ends at an innovative gelateria tucked down a hidden side street. Cap off your morning on a delicious note with your choice of one of their creative flavors.

Our guide Manu was amazing! She was very friendly and knowledgeable about Venice and the food. So passionate! We had a great time as we walked the streets of Venice. Learned so much about the history and culture of the city. You will not be disappointed!

Manu was a lively and engaging guide. She visited with each of us and encouraged us to visit with one another. The food choices were varied and excellent, and our time in Rialto market was great. At the end of the tour, Manu took some of us back to a place we wanted to visit again.

Wonderful tour! A great way to sample the local foods - and learn about the traditions. Come hungry - portions large as so delicious - enjoyed the local drinks as well!!Daria was engaging and very knowledgeable!

Our host Barbara was the best guide ever! She was fun, engaged with each guest personally and kept us informed and full for the entire tour. The food selections were amazing - if not a little excessive, but we certainly ate well. We were exposed to items we would not have know about were it not for this tour and it really enhanced our entire week long stay in Venice as we knew what we liked and where to find things. Best Viator tour ever - everyone should take it - come hungry and open minded - so much to learn and enjoy

I was with 8 friends and we had a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food stops were awesome and we just all had the best time. We highly recommend this tour and next time we are in town will do it again! Bona Petito!

Daria’s love for Venice showed as she guided from stop to stop. We had small plates from places we would not think to stop and eat at. Our favorite place was the stop for risotto, wine and and amazing tiramisu. We couldn’t get enough and went back for more later that night!

Jennifer was outstanding as a guide! What a wonderful way to start our visit to Venice... great food, a lot of useful and interesting information and a really good insight into life and culture in Italy. The chocolate stop at the end was awesome! Don't forget your camera... the Rialto Market is a great place to take food and people pictures.
