The ride on the gondola was memorable.
The walking tour was too long but we did learn quite a lot. The guide was very personable.

Overall, the tour was fine. There were a couple of things that I wanted to note for future travelers. The first thing was that the title is a little misleading in that a group of up to 20 is a pretty large group, not a small group. In the detailed description, they do state that the group size can be up to 20. It makes it hard to travel around the narrow streets of Venice in a group that size. There was a lot of talking and standing during the tour, so we opted out about half way through. There are ways to make the tour a little more exciting and less dry, but unfortunately we did not see it. The gondola ride at the end was fine, but if you are a group of four, you can do that yourself for 90 euros.

Card for Murano glass shop visit alternative poor, anyone can visit here anytime.
Problems with sound system.
On a positive note Tulia informative and friendly and gondola trip good.

Our was nice enough but she really did a poor job of really explaining any history of how Venice became to be. There were some guest on the tour that went to the wrong place (and they were Italian locals) so we had to wait. Instructions were pretty clear. Then another group a quarter of the way through interrupted the whole process because they couldn’t walk anymore. Really? Didn’t you read about what to expect? So again the guide put the whole group out while she attended to them. We’ve been on several other tours during this visit and this one was a complete waste of time. Then we got dropped off with the gondola people and the gondoliers were all cracking jokes with each other while we’re trying to enjoy the ride. It felt like the ‘It’s A Small World’ ride at Disneyland. We were all on top of each other but the gondoliers were pretty rude. Do a gondola ride separately- it’s worth it. Look for another tour would be my recommendation.

We were only in Venice for a day and a half, so this was a great way to explore the city and get a lot of history and information from a local. We loved our tour guide and the staff that helped us check in. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I will say, I felt a bit mislead by the name of this tour-we booked it last minute and I missed the fact that we would not get the tour the Basilica itself. It would be more accurate to call this a city tour. We were also taken to a glass blowing demonstration during the tour, which just felt like we were being sold to. Overall, however, it was a wonderful experience!

This was an amazing tour!!!! Our guide, Matt was very knowledgeable and gave us a day we will never forget. His attention to detail inside the basilica was outstanding. This is a must do!
