Our private waterfalls of the Monte Plata rain forest tour takes you about an hour from the city to a lush tropical rain forest and 2 spectacular waterfalls found there, Salto de Socoa and Sierra de Agua. At both spots you can swim in the cool and clean waters of the river or simply enjoy the amazing beauty and peace of the lush tropical rain forest. After spending the morning at the Socoa Falls, set off on a short scenic drive through the countryside on our way to the second waterfall, on route we enjoy a typical Dominican style lunch prepared by locals.
Next, a short 10 minute drive takes to our grand finale, the spectacular Sierra de Agua Waterfalls. This beautiful protected waterfall is made up of three side by side 50 foot waterfalls that create a crystal clear pool of water perfect for enjoying a refreshing dip. Visiting this region provides you with a unique opportunity to see a part of the real Dominican Republic that not many tourists get to see.

This tour was PERFECT! Manny is so knowledgable and gave us information about the culture of each of the little towns we drove through, as well as the rainforest. The waterfalls are beautiful and a must-see! He also plans the trip so you miss most of the tourist buses which we LOVED.

This was our second tour with explora eco tour and absolutely fantastic! We had Halle for the first tour of Los hiatises and Manny for the Monte Plata tour both guides are equally awesome!!! Today’s tour was with Manny to Monte Plata and it’s a short drive from the boca chica area. He was very informational and pointed out several sights along the drive and answered every question we had. The waterfalls were beautiful and the van is very comfortable. He provided us with water, snacks, and a delicious dinner at a local town. It is a family owned buisness, so your money actually goes to locals and not a big corporation! Our Spanish is not so good, but that was not an issue because both guides speak English and Spanish. Thank you Manny and Halle!!! Seriously book with this company I have travelled to 14 countries and this was the best experience of my life!
