A new and good alternative of trekking, for before the adventure and those people who did not find a place for the Inca Trail – classic of Machu Picchu. This alternative leads us to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu with landscapes between Lakeons, mountains like the skies of the Humantay and Salkantay, a route of our ancestors where we can appreciate a progression of the diverse ecological floors, crossing by mighty rivers, in the mountain range we visited Thermus-Natural Waters; entering the region of the eyebrow of forest of abundant tropical vegetation, appreciating flowers of different colours, birds like the Colibri and parrots of the humid forests. The last day of trekking very early we will visit the Lost City of Incas – Machu Picchu and that same day in the evening we return to Cusco.

We did this hike with friends and it is an experience that we will not forget, we saw snow, unique landscapes and despite the cold we were very excited about this Trek.
Fredy was our guide and he gave us spectacular attention. In addition, the camping equipment was of high quality and high quality.

Where should we start... This trek was life changing!
From our first registration on their website to the end of the trip, every detail was thoughtout carefully with Llama Path. Staff were always helpful, reassuring and kind.
Our first meeting with the guide, Gabo, was very reassuring. He immediately instilled a lot of confidence in us with his professional and firm, yet friendly demeanor. His knowledge of the Andean culture, including anthropology, archeology and even spirituality, was as deep as the valleys of the Andes. Thank you my wawqi for our deep conversations.
To say that we ate like kings on this trek would be an understatement. Our chef Dennis and his assistant Issac took care of our hungry stomaches with delicious New-Andean dishes, and amazed us with their capabilities in a remote mountain kitchen.
We were also impressed by the way the company treats their porters. Each are given fair wages and working conditions, and are treated as well as the trekkers. We were further impressed by Llama Path’s commitment to the local community, providing schooling and programs for employee’s families. Sustainability was a very important factor in choosing Llama Path for our trek.
The Salkantay trek was an incredible journey, made even more memorable by Llama Path. Thank you for the once in a lifetime experience!

From the moment we were picked up at the airport the staff at Minka Peru was professional, patient and knowledgable. The trek to Machu Picchu through Salkantay was rugged, challenfging and the kind of trek that took my breath away at every turn (sometimes it was the elevation but mostly it was the beauty). Our guides took care of every detail on the trip and the chasques (porters) provided heart warming service, carrying everything from the camp, our belongings and all the food beating us to each camp so all was set up as we arrived. We would highly recommend Minka Peru.
