Steep walk up but glad we took the path rather than the shuttle bus as there where Interesting facts to read along the way.
11.50 per adult to go to the top. Lovely views and lots to learn on each floor about Willaim wallace.

Lots of stairs to climb to the top for a great view. The stairs wind and are narrow in most spots, so it makes it difficult to pass. Learned a lot of interesting history about William Wallace. We took a ScotsRail train from Edinburgh to Stirling then a local bus to the monument, very easy to do.

Ed was very flexible and knowledgeable to work with. We felt very safe with driving and was on time or ahead of schedule. He was very well versed in the history of Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument and other stops along the way to Inverness. Along with picking out great lunch spots! He helped get great pictures and made many wonderful memories for us! Thank you Ed for taking care us!

Ed knows his Scottish history. He tailored the tour to our desires by asking lots of questions about what we had seen on previous tours and what we wanted to see. His walking tour through Stirling Castle helped us integrate the castle’s history into the larger historical timeline. He was invaluable at Linlithgow castle. His descriptions brought the ruins to life. I would not have appreciated the former grandeur of this structure without his help.

After a morning spent at nearby Stirling Castle this seemed a must, short drive across Stirling, stopped at Stephens Bakery which is about 4 minute drive from WM car park, local steak birdie and a brew- packed with locals so you know it’s good! Then drive up the side of William Wallace pub, twisting steep access road takes you to free car park. Free Shuttle bus not running- we enjoy a walk so off we went through the gift shop and up you go! Steep wet gravel path, it’s one to pace yourself- interesting forest statues on way and a welcome halfway marker! Get to top and £11 each to enter- 249 steps up tight, narrow winding staircase- the only one! Great place to meet people going up and down but everyone soon gets hang of it! 3 floors on way up- Wallace’s sword and big screen story- loads of story boards re Battle of Stirling Bridge, I think we both loved the Scottish Heroes best- very atmospheric. Thankfully seating a plenty so time to recover between floors!
The view from the top level is incredible and the site of Wallace’s triumph unfolds like a map in front of you…
We were especially taken with the actor, he was fabulous at bringing the story and Scottish history to life! Not sure this is everyday so lucky us!!!!
There is a gift shop and coffee shop at ground level, thoroughly enjoyable/ strenuous afternoon out!

Amazing experience which will cost you many stairs to climb but it is well worth it.

Impressive on the outside, Wallace Monument is a place you should visit if you are in the area.

The parking is for free and then you can either take a shuttle bus or walk to the top. The Monument has a few floors and you can rest and read a lot about history on each. You can even make your own coat of arms!

The weather at the top of the monument may be pretty harsh but the views are truly amazing.

There is a cafe, a souvenir shop and toilets at the parking place.

Ed was terrific! He was flexible with our schedule when the ship disembarkation ran late, providing options to maximize the time we had. He also helped my mother with limited mobility to help her make the most of her time. He was very knowledgeable in guiding us through the castles.

Our tour guide Ed was awesome. His Mercedes vehicle was very comfortable. Before the trip, Ed customised the tour to fit our requirements of limited walking for which I was grateful. It was the perfect mix of a lovely travel via Ed's car, across the gorgeous Scottish lands and listening to history from Ed (His knowledge of the history of Scotland is amazing). Very much recommended.

Fabulous view over Stirling after a nice steeply walk to the top. You can go even higher but than you have to do 246 steps extra. People can use a shuttle service to the tower as well which is a very good service.
