Mario was a great tour guide. He was very friendly and accommodating to the weather. We saw the Amalfi coast and did a 2 hour private tour of Pompeii. It was a great day.

I contacted Salvo by email about a tour to Mt. Etna and Taormina for the day our cruise ship docked in Messina. I stayed in touch by WhatsApp. Salvo is current with all the latest means of communication.
He was right on time and provided us an enlightening day of information and sights to keep our cameras busy. It was cold and windy at Silvestri crater but we braved the weather and walked around the edge, braced against the wind.
On the way back Salvo stopped to introduce us to the chestnuts growing wild in the area. We even sampled some of it raw.
On the way to Taormina we stopped in Naxos and had lunch. The scenery here is memorable with the ocean at your door step and mountains as a backdrop. We could see Taormina and Castelmola on the hills above.
We had free time to explore Taormina before heading back to Messina, where we stopped at a viewing area to see the harbor and another brief stop at the fabulous cathedral.
All in all we had a great day. Thanks Salvo.
