Our guide Tobian is one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had on a tour in any country! He was so knowledgeable and sought to educate the truth in the witch trials. There was no hokey fabrications and he paid respect to the true terror that occurred at this point in time. He kept kids engaged and was just really one of a kind.

Very knowledgeable guide. . .sometimes difficult to hear when not faced in our direct line of site. Having earphones would make it easier to understand and follow.

This did not end up how I expected. This is the third walking tour of Salem I’ve done. The first was a private tour, second was by a different group. I was with two first timer friends and expected more walking to different sites including the historical home district and the hocus pocus Allison’s house (Ropes Mansion) with some local ghost stories thrown in. With a slow start to destinations, I became anxious and worried that we would not see all these sites and my friends’ experience wouldn’t be as great, but instead turned out to be 100x better.
Instead, we received a fully inclusive history of Salem narrated by the incredible Jobian visiting the landmarks that matter and with great respect to the city’s lore. Sub out the gimmicky “Here’s where ghosts have been spotted” and sub in an educational, extremely empathetic, sophisticated experience full of historical facts and political correctness with the well timed lighthearted joke or two, and that’s Jobian’s tour. It gave me and my friends things to talk about for hours following the tour and we felt great knowing how to truly honor those who perished while we take joy in the modern concept of witch city today. Hearing Salem’s history through the lense of Jobian is something not to miss.

Not really a ghost tour. More of a Salem history tour. Very informative. Guide, Sarah Black, was pleasant. She has a podcast too.

Great tour. The hottest was very knowledgeable and explained the story in a meaningful way. He recommended the Obscured podcast and I stayed up really lashes listening to the series when we went home. Awesome.
