The train journey was with dinner. Had adjoining rooms with a connecting door so was good for us. The train could be cleaner especially the toilets. The actual tour of Luxor was with Salwa from Emo Tours Egypt. She is an Egyptologist so was very knowledgeable about the history of all the sites we visited. The restaurant she took us to for lunch served excellent food. Overall a very good day at Luxor. All organised via Viator and Emo tours.

We had great experience with Emo tour. They really made our trip worth it. First we booked dinner cruise and we met Engy she was our tour guide for that night. Really sweet girl we felt really comfortable talking to her. After meeting her we decided to book rest of our tours with Emo. Then we booked over night trip to Luxor from Cairo. We had Ahmed who picked us up from the hotel to drop us to the train station, really nice guy spoke well English made us feel comfortable. He made sure we were safe he stayed with us till we sat inside the train. When we reached Luxor we met Zidan. He really made our trip to Luxor worth it. We can’t thank him enough for everything he did for us. Zidan and the driver both were really friendly and they made sure we were enjoying and comfortable. And we did another trip with Emo it was the old Cairo city tour again we had great time. I will defiantly recommend Emo tour for all the tourist, they are really good and safe to explore places with.

As a family of 2+2 I was looking for the best way to travel to Alexandria (via Cairo) from Luxor. Air fares were going crazy (5000 pounds per person) so train was only option for this 12 hours plus journey.
I took the ‘BERTINI’ from Luxor train station at 23:00 hours and reached Cairo at 9:00 am. I had Booked 4 seats in VIP parlour. There is no need to book a berth or a bed cabin since parlour Seats are recline and very comfortable to sleep on. It cost me just 117 pounds per person.
