Located about 25 miles (40 km) northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, the Cu Chi tunnels consist of a vast network of 155 miles (250 km) of tunnels connecting underground living and cooking areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command center but also hundreds of trap doors. Initially dug with simple tools and bare hands for the fight against the French in the 1940s, the tunnels were then extended by Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers during the "American War" in the 1960s and 1970s. It became a large, multi-story, deep underground city providing hiding spots, as well as communication and supply routes, helping the Vietnamese revolutionaries. This was a terrific tour led by the most helpful and knowledgeable Tam. Tam not only gave us plenty of terrific information about the Cu Chi Tunnels - and answered all of our questions thoughtfully and comprehensively - he was also a wealth of information about Vietnam in general (society, culture, history, etc). Highly recommended.

Great experience with Typhoon Honey as our tour guide! He was wonderful explaining everything to us and was able to judge the appropriate amount of time our family needed at each spot. He was incredible with our kids (12 and 13 yo) and worked hard to keep them engaged and answered questions that arose. This half day tour was perfect for us and the hands on history lesson was powerful. From HCM city, the van ride is about 2 hours each way. Our driver (Ken) was safe and the van was roomy with aircon and free WiFi. If you want to see the tunnels, this is the way to do it!

We had a wonderful tour with Typhoon Honey. He did a great job engaging our 12 and 13 year old and making our trip through the tunnel experience smooth and fun. The transport was clean and cool with a great driver. It can be sensitive doing a tour like this as Americans given the complex history of the war, but Typhoon did a great job sharing the painful parts of the war story with compassion and honesty. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fascinating, an important part of history that has been made accessible to visitors in a very thought out way.
Our tour guide was Typhoon Honey and really recommend him, his historical knowledge is very impressive and is warm and engaging throughout.
The driver also was superb, I felt absolutely safe at all times with Quan. A very professional tour with attention to detail.

We got picked up from our Hotel in Saigon. Very nice air Cincinnati new van. Our guide Typhoon Honey was amazing. Funny and very educational about the history. 5 star plus, highly recommend
