Departures planned from Piano Provenzana with off-road vehicles along the panoramic path that leads up to the north side of Mt. Etna, through ancient craters and recent lava flows up to 2825 mt. Then we start the ascent (470mt positive level difference) on foot on a path surrounded by volcanic bombs and scoria, till we will reach the Central Crater at a height of 3300 mt, where we will stop to admire the greatness,the uniqueness and the processes of this extraordinary volcanic environment, combined with the spectacle of the panorama that can be enjoyed from the roof of Sicily (the visibility might change according to weather or volcanic conditions). The descent goes back along the same path, while the last part will be made inside little channels constituted by soft and friable volcanic scoria, on which you can walk easily without any problem adopting the necessary precautions, till a height of 2825 mt where we will get the off road vehicles for the trip back down to Piano Provenzana.

Arrival at a height of 2825 mt. Start of the walking tour in total 4 km up to the Summit Craters of Etna at 3300 meters Descent on terrain made up of sand and slag to an altitude of 2825m Downhill with special off-road vehicles from an altitude of 2825 mt to Piano Provenzana at 1800 mt. Total time of the trekking trail: 4,5 hours Total kilometres: 7,5 (it may vary) Maximum altitude reached: 3300 mt. Minimum altitude reached: 2825 mt. ADDITIONAL INFO

• Service animals allowed
• Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
• Not recommended for pregnant travelers
• Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
• Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
• For the success of the excursion and for its correct carrying out, it’s good to know perfectly your health conditions and, if necessary, let the Guides know about them, in order to reduce the occurrence of any problem and to avoid any risks.
• We recommend not to use contact lenses, because of the exhaled volcanic gases and of ash. This last one could easily cause problems, if pushed.
• This type of itinerary, in relation to the type, is suited to people in good physical health, not suffering from particular disease (it is strongly discouraged to those who suffer from cardio-vascular problems, breathing problems or hypertension).
• The excursion is not suited for children under 12 years old
• The excursion will be carried out according to the limits laid down by the ordinance in force.
• The excursion could be subjected to variations at the discretion of the Guides, or it could be interrupted in case of changes of the environmental, climatic or volcanic conditions, so as to undermine the safety of the entire group.
• It is required also to be careful, since it is volcanic soil, often inconsistent and unstable.
• The excursion requires a good preparation on a physical level. Because of it results to be a high height path, it would be easy to experience symptoms of fatigue.
• Trekking is not recommended for those who does not do physical activity regularly.

Brilliant, do it if you're reasonably fit. We maybe got lucky as strombolic activity started 6 days before our hike, so we saw actual eruptions (fire and rocks!), but worth it even without that. We are 59 and 61 and were worried initially at the physicality of it and the reduction in effective oxygen at that height. My partner faltered at one point but a motivational talk helped her on and she didn't regret it!. Great guides with multiple languages, you're hiking for over 3 hours but at least you get to wee on a volcano!

Una gironata incredibile, abbiamo avuto come guida Andrea ed eravamo solo in 7 persone in totale sull'Etna.

Una vera vista privata inaspettata.

Già a raccontarla così sembra pura magia se poi ci aggiungi l'eruzione, i racconti di Andrea sulla formazione di qualsiasi cratere, roccia, pianta e curiosità che potevamo avere forse riuscite ad immaginare cosa abbiamo vissuto.

Abbiamo visto la nascita di un nuovo craterino che sborbotta, sbuffa, tuona e il magma che cerca di uscire con forza verso il cielo e lancia pietre a metri e metri d'altezza.

Il clima meraviglioso sole e caldo, ci siamo goduti uno spettacolo della natura con tutti i sensi a mille... Davvero difficile descrivere le emozioni.

Il rientro spettacolare la discesa nella sabbia e con Andrea, sempre attento, siamo andati giù che è una meraviglia.

Un plauso anche a Giacomo, il nostro driver, che si è anche fermato per farci fare la foto ai crateri che si vedono lungo il percorso che si sono formati nel 2002.

Che dire, se hai letto fino a qui hai capito che abbiamo vissuto un' esperienza unica e perfetta.

Tolle Tour, wie sind immernoch begeistert! Sehr gut und sicher geführt, auf gute Ausrüstung und Gesundheitszustand der Teilnehmenden wird geachtet. Bei Bedarf wird fehlende Ausrüstung ausgeliehen. Das war sehr beeindruckend, danke für die Führung.

We chose the afternoon ascent and it was really memorable! Our guides (Andreo and Nikos) were excellent and professional, as was the driver for the mid section of the mountain :) We were really fortunate have clear views and to see two craters releasing material - amazing to see! To experience these kinds of forces of nature (pyroclastic activity, wind, etc.) was phenomenal. We highly recommend taking the time to experience Mt.Etna from the north side with this tour operator - just excellent!

Magnifique trekking, impressionnant et vaut vraiment le coût ! Demande quand même d’être en bonne condition physique, l’ascension est assez courte mais beau dénivelé. Merci à notre guide Poldo, très sympa et explications passionnantes en français !

Na een heel hobbelige rit in de coole 4x4 wagen stond ons een stevige beklimming tot de top van Etna Noord te wachten. We hadden een héél goede gids, die toevallig geoloog bleek en ons heel veel interessante weetjes over de vulkaan vertelde. Het weer was prachtig en het uitzicht naar de kraters was adembenemend. We hadden het geluk dat er een eruptie plaatsvond die we heel duidelijk konden waarnemen. De afdaling deden we al lopend door de gestolde lava en stof en was heel plezierig. Een echte aanrader voor iedere fitte persoon! Het materiaal was van heel goede kwaliteit en het transport was perfect getimed. We zijn de gidsen en organisatie heel dankbaar voor onze hoogdag in Sicilië. Sofie en Ruben uit België
