Tucked under the tawny skirts of formidable foothills about 15kms/9.3 miles north of Cusco as the condor flies, via a narrow road and hairpin turns, the Sacred Valley holds its head high. The valley has long been the home of attractive colonial towns, handicraft markets and lofty 10th and 11th century Inca Citadels of Pisac, Ollyantaytambo and Urubumba.
Visiting the Salt Mines and Moray terraces which were made by building containment walls filled with fertile earth. They were watered through a complex irrigation system. At the base of the terraces, there is a rain water storage system.
Explore amazing ruins and the fabled Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. The Inca City of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu is the articulating center of its surroundings, a masterpiece of art, urbanism, architecture and engineering of the Inca Civilization.

Booking our itinerary with Sam Travel was an amazing experience! Our main point of contact, Junior, was very responsive and even helped us make last minute changes and accommodations due to us experiencing altitude sickness at the beginning of our trip. He was excellent! Our tour guide at the Sacred Valley was Liz Montesinos. She was as friendly as can be, very informative and even showed my partner and I around town taking us to a store where we could buy supplies we were looking for to do our Inca trail hike the next day. Mauro was very kind and patient during our Macchu Picchu hike. Ketti gave us a tour around the city of Cusco. She was very passionate about her job and culture, and even offered to show us some local dining spots for great food. Tony was our guide during the Amazon Jungle portion of our trip. We felt like we were experiencing the trip with a good friend, as he made us feel very comfortable and we enjoyed our time together. All the staff at Sam Travel Peru were absolutely incredible. I also recall their prices being very reasonable compared to competitors when booking this trip. Great value, quality, care and attention all around. I would highly recommend them!

Absolutely amazing! Carlos was a resource beyond compare - a walking encyclopedia of knowledge of the Inca civilization as well as all areas we visited .David was an incredible help throughout the journey.

Carlos, David and our drive were marvelous. Especially traveling with our family and needing wheelchair assistance; everyone was patient and took great care all of our needs were met. We learned so much and if and when we are able to return we would call upon you once more. See you later!

JP, Jimmy, and Edison were the absolute best people to take care of us on the 5 day Inca trail!! It was an experience me and my husband will never forget. Such an amazing trip with Sam Travel that I cannot recommend enough. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, or where you come from, you will absolutely love every minute of this amazing trek. Couldn’t have been possible without them.
We learned so much about the history of the Inca people, enjoyed our time on the mountain, and were taken care of when we were sick for a day while hiking. They were so attentive to the group, so funny, and the food was awesome!

We went on this trip to celebrate graduating from University, and there was no better way to celebrate! We had such an amazing time with our tour guides JP and Jimmy, they were both very kind, funny and very knowledgeable. They were engaged with us throughout the whole trip and it was a key part to the fun. The Chef Edison and his porter team were amazing, we have never eaten such wonderful food in such an incredible environment. Thank you to the team on our trip and the rest of the team at Sam Travel Peru!

We had an amazing time on the Inca trail. Our tour guides Jimmy and JP were so accommodating, knowledgeable and made the trip such an enjoyable experience. I couldn’t recommend them enough. The food was amazing, Edison did an amazing job and all the work the porters do is amazing.

First of all, this is a super nice experience for my whole family with our lovely guide Dayvit!! Thank you Dayvit for everything you did!
We are traveling with two kids and we chose the tough one day 7 miles hike to machu pichu ( the longest hike we did !) without the careful planning, taking care of all the tickets / permit/ lunch, it is really impossible. Dayvit also helped us taking care of my little son (7-yrs) and holding his hand all the way :) , so we can finish our hike. The knowledge he share along the way about machupichu and inka culture is also amazing.
Thank you Dayvit again, and highly recommend Dayvit to everyone with family.

We are taking the tour with Dayvit for 3 day Inca trek tour which includes 1 day 12km hike from 104 to Machupicchu. It is absolutely amazing experience. Dayvit hold hands to walk with our little one 7 year boy through entire hike, that makes our trip much easy. He also well took care of all the logistics through the trip and gave a lot of history information about Inca. Very recommend this company and Dayvit as your tour guide.
