Spend 2-days in Cappadocia and see Göreme Open Air Museum, the fairy chimneys,underground city,canyon valley,pottery ceramic demonstration.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1.
First Day we will pick you up from hotel at 09:30 am and first stop s Uçhisar Castle. It is constructed on the highest point of the region. It has a totally dictinct castle form, including graves, tunnels and churches, that you cannot come across at any other place in the world.
2.
Open Air Museum especially important to understand the influence of the religion, especially of Christianity, on the region. For good reasons it is the most famous attraction, a complex of several painted cave-churches carved out by Orthodox monks between 900 and 1200 AD.
3.
An old Greek village will be next place in the tour. Çavusin is a village about 4 kilometers from Göreme .The old village is largely deserted because the area has been plagued by rock falls. At Çavusin you can visit the Church of John the Baptist which probably dates from the 5th century with paintings from the 6th, 7th and 8th centuries. The view of Rose Valley is excellent from this village.
4.
The best place to see three-headed fairy chimneys. Pasabag, the Pasha's Vineyard, is surrounded by incredible natural rock formations; a spectacular scene.

1 hour for the lunch in Restaurant which is very cool and popular in the region .You will start with the soup. Than you will have self-service.

Since Hittites 2000 BC people could get the red clays (terra rosa) around Kızılırmak river which is the longest river of Turkey, and white clays ( caulin) from volcanic hills .They could use the clays for their daily lifes by shaping the clay by their hand on the spinning wheels.
7.
The ruins at Devrent are spread over three valleys, which also house several pointed fairy chimneys with large stems.
8.
The "fairy chimneys" with caps, mainly found in the vicinity of Ürgüp, have a conical-shaped body and a boulder on top of it. The cone is constructed from tufa and volcanic ash, while the cap is of a harder, more resistant rock such as lahar or ignimbrite. The fairy chimneys which are symbols of Ürgüp are called holly spirit chimneys. There is mother, father and son fairy chimneys stay together.

Every carpet, with its patterns, resembles a collection of messages, beliefs and symbols. Every pattern that is woven into a carpet is a picture of a feeling, a desire or a wish. So far as that every carpet represents a living history from the early ages to the present in which women have patiently and untiringly written their joys and sorrows in amazing codes and magic letters which are to be read line by line

Second Day, we will pick you up from hotel at 09:30 am and first stop is Göreme Panorama. You get information about history, formation of Cappadocia while watching the fairy chimneys. Following the information, free time for photograph.

After driving about 40 minutes, arrival Underground City. This underground city was firstly used by the local people as a natural deep freeze, later by the late Romans as a shelter against potential Arabian invasions. With the clear explanations of your guide you will spend almost 1 hour here.
12.
Ihlara Canyon is 52 km. away from Derinkuyu Underground City.Approximately 45 minutes later, you will be in the entrance of Ihlara Valley.Ihlara Valley was formed by the volcanic actions of Mt. Hasan, next to Ihlara Valley. Afterwards, Melendiz River eroded the valley for millions of years besides the layers cracked and fell down. Eventually, 80 meter- deep canyon was composed. Whole Valley is 14 km. length. In the past, generally Christians lived in the several parts of the Valley; also they carved churches and painted them. You will hike about 3,5 km.Hiking will last 1hour 15m.Then you will arrive to Restaurant for Lunch

1 hour for the lunch in the valley, next to the River. You will start with the soup and salad, later you will able choose one of the main dishes from the list. Lunch will be over with season fruits.
14.
Our tour will go on with another movie- set-like place, Selime Monastery. At first look, the monastery looks like a castle, but shelters, churches, chapels, bedrooms, storages and big cathedral proves us its being a monastery. You get information about the monastic life in Cappadocia.
15.
Climbing to Selime monastery will exhaust you, probably. But till you arrive to Pigeon Valley, you will have about 1 hour to rest. Also, our guide will mention about some traditions, cultures and stories about Anatolia on the way. Upon arrival to Pigeon Valley, pigeons will meet you on the top of the valley. Pigeons have always been important for Cappadocian people. Their eggs and droppings were used for different purposes. For this reason, local people carved houses for them to the slopes of valley. You will see the reason why people call them “houses”, when you see them.
16.
The Last place in the tour will be a visit to onyx factory in Uchisar. Onyx is a volcanic stone which has various colors and contains different minerals in. As being a volcanic area, Cappadocia has some onyx deposits. In the factory, a master will give you information about the steps of onyx shaping and you will watch a shaping show.

Doing both the red and green tours gives you a real insight into the amazing history and sites of Cappadocia. Our guide Selim was friendly, knowledgeable and we really enjoyed both the days he hosted for us. Thank you Selim.

The meals on both days were both good and provided in nice settings. Lunch by the river on the green tour was very nice.

There is some walking involved on both trips so wear comfortable layered clothing.

Both tours are quite different and if you have the time I recommend you do both.

Communication with Stoneland via WhatsApp was brilliant from the moment we booked and all the services they provided were on time, of a high standard and I believe offered good value. Thank you Stoneland.

This travel agency is superb! They are very welcoming accommodating and adjusting to our needs with reasonable prices.

Tour guides are very good with their job as well. I highly commend SALIM and BERK for doing their job really well. They are very knowledgable with excellent english speaking skills and with good sense of humour. The entire was not boring and that I think is the most important.

Highly commend these people and the entire agency.

Good tour and services. Everything they mentioned in the package was well covered. The guide could have been a bit more elaborative like with other agencies by sharing videos / pics to explain history. Overall it was quite good

On our first day on the Red tour with Berek was very knowledgeable, took his time to answer any questions and provided a relaxed atmosphere. However, on the Green tour the second day we were with an older gentleman who moved at a very fast pace using the tour as a day to exercise. It was hard for anyone in the group to keep up with him while trying to learn about the sites.

This Tour was the best ever. It was really a memorable and incredible experience. We did both the Red tour and green tour with the Stoneland. Both guides were THE BEST! Salem and Ahmet were the best guides a tourist could ask for.

I travel to Cappadocia with my family we were 8 people including a kid. We joined the green tour and the red tour and had a really great time there. It was snowing and quite cold but we still manage to do a lot of things, we went hiking, to the caves, a monastery, and we even had some traditional food that was super delicious.

We had had an amazing guide Selim who explained everything very clearly and was super patient with my family that didn't speak English.

We are totally looking forward to visiting Cappadocia again and see new beautiful places.

Sultan Selim Ayas was the best tour guide. I’ve learned so much from the knowledge provided by Selim, he made this tour wonderful. Our driver Sultan Mehmet also made this tour with very smooth with his driving!

On our second visit to Cappadocia we wanted to have a better time than the first time we went so we did not hesitate to contact Stoneland Turkey Travel again and take the green and red tours to remember the history of Cappadocia.

As always the attention was first class, the guides Jam and Ahmet with a lot of knowledge told us the whole history of the place.

Before we left we could not miss the opportunity to do a classic car tour at sunrise to enjoy a romantic moment as a couple at the time when the hot air balloons were rising.

Thank you Stoneland Turkey Travel for helping us to have unforgettable days on our vacation.
