The hot air balloon flight was great, but the tour operators dropped us off in front of some super touristy tour guides at the pyramids somehow implying that was their recommendation. Also, on the way back the bus dropped us off an hour from where it was supposed to and we had to walk 7km to get back to the original pickup point.

The hot air balloon experience was really unique and memorable. The pilot cannot control where the balloon flies, though, so there's a good chance (as in my case) that it will not fly directly over the pyramids. If this is a deal-breaker for you, then I would not recommend the trip. Also, leaving 3.5 hours for the pyramid visit is way too long. My partner and I opted out of it for that reason.

One of the highlights to our trip to Mexico City. Getting up early was difficult, but so worth it. The views from the balloon ride were magnificent, and the whole experience was well planned and executed. Our balloon captain was great, and the breakfast was too. We stayed for the 3 hour visit to Teotihuacan and paid extra for a tour there and were glad we did. Our tour guide was both hilarious and knowledgeable, and the excursion to the cave where you can see your aura in front of a shaft of light was truly a special moment... I still can't believe we were allowed in to participate in that tradition. Also the demonstration of agave plant and obsidian crafting was informative and fun, even if it led to a sales pitch for local drinks and crafts, it was a good time. I have no regrets about this whole day. Highly recommend the balloon flight and the extra tour at the ruins, worth every penny.

I booked it as a little treat for my birthday and definitely had the best time! The breakfast was very tasty and vegetarian friendly, the tour at the pyramids was also super fun, would do again!

This was an awful experience. I booked my reservation the day before I decided to go. Very excited at the prospect of taking a hot air balloon ride over the pyramids. Too bad that didn’t happen.
I received my confirmation to meet at the hotel I chose the day before I went. I was to be picked up at 4:30 am. I was there 20 minutes early ready to go. I was contacted at 4:35 letting me know that I wasn’t there so they left. They showed up at the wrong spot and asked me how I was going to get there. After some back and forth and proving that they in fact had the wrong spot. They begrudgingly came back to get me.
I got over this as I was excited to fly over the pyramids. We were delayed about 10 minutes from loading into the hot air balloon because of the wind, they quickly loaded us into the hot air balloon to take off. I was very excited to be doing this. There were a ton of balloons in the sky from multiple companies. Then shortly into the flight they descended and we landed in some random field. Where they informed us that the flight was done. They celebrated the flight as if it was a success.
They honestly did not care that they did not give us the experience that we paid for. I have wanted to do this for a long time and they completely ruined this experience for me. A complete rip off.

The experience was excellent. However, I have a suggestion for the organizers. There is a mandatory requirement to “bring your official document” that is buried in the downloadable PDF document (not even in the actual electronic ticket). Since this is a mandatory requirement, meaning you won’t be allowed to fly without it, this detail should be prominently displayed in the first lines, not hidden in the fine print. This oversight could potentially ruin your customer’s experience.
When traveling, especially through Mexico, the common advice is to be very careful with your money, belongings, and documents. I usually leave my passport at the hotel. Fortunately, I had a picture of my daughter’s passport and was able to show it to the person at the counter. Otherwise, I would have traveled thousands of miles only to miss the balloon flight because this crucial detail was not made clear. “Bring your official documents” should be the headline of the conditions, not buried in the fine print.

We just got back from our trip and it was so fun! Our guides and pilots were so kind & let us know that depending on the wind will be how close we can get to the pyramids and I didn’t mind not seeing it super close by due to the weather. The food was great! My friends and I had so much fun thanks to the employees! We also met a fun group of people there who came from different parts of the world which is cool!
