We had the pleasure of meeting Steve, our guide, who took us first to the Glencoyne
distillery for a tour scotch tasting and then on a tour of sites where Outlander is filmed. He has great knowledge about the series and provided often surprising information about how it is produced. He then took us through the Trossachs for amazing natural scenery. The highlight of our day a visit to Hopetoun House the finest estate house in Scotland and the UK. Touring with Steve is a seamless experience. He kept us on an easy schedule and made the day enjoyable informative and memorable. Hopetoun House is a lavish estate house lovingly kept up by its live-in family, an astounding art collection and wonderful period restoration, Steve was a knowledgeable, pleasant and expert guide. Edinburghtourguides.com provides a professional and pleasant experience.

My two Sisters and I were collected from our Hotel at 9.30 by Sam and Steve and off we went to Lallybroch. I can’t tell you how excited I was to go on this Trip. Sam and Steve are fabulous tour guides and lovely people, very knowledgeable and informative. We had an amazing day also visiting Doune Castle, the Kelpies, Blackness Castle and beautiful Culross. We stayed so long in each location as we were really enjoying the tour (not just visiting for the photo opportunity) of which there are so many, but being guided by Sam and Steve and their wealth of knowledge for each location, we ran out of time. Sam and Steve were also pointing out the various landmarks as we were driving along. We loved our Ultimate Outlander Day Tour and will definitely be back to visit some other locations and will be booking Edinburgh Tour Guides to take us. Thank you. Annie Sharon and Christine

This was an amazing private tour. This ended up only being my husband and I for the tour. The guide could have cancelled but didn't. This was a great tour that followed all the film spots and we even stopped for an authentic meat pie for lunch. We stopped at 6 spots and took some amazing pictures. Thank you again for the wonderful tour!

Wow! What a fantastic day! Started off with beautiful sunny weather in Culross and the AMAZING Culross Palace and garden and Mercat Cross. Then off to Doune and then a true highlight- Linlithgow Palace (the reason we chose this tour) which was spectacular! Then the weather changed (in great Scotland fashion!) for some great wind gusts as Blackness Castle and finally LALLYBROCH, sorry, Midhope Castle! Sam was so engaging and knowledge, with heaps of little anecdotes and trivia. She took such great care of mum who had a sprained ankle- organising closer drop off points and sharing her tips on the ‘easier’ route for navigating the castles. Thank you SO MUCH!! Also thanks for the recommendation of cheesecake at Coffee Neuk. And for delivering mum’s iPad back to our hotel. A fabulous day- couldn’t have asked for more!

Our tour guide Sam was very nice and had great insight and stories. Even though the weather was not great, I still highly recommend the tour, although I was a little disappointed that we were not able to go to Midhope aka Lallybrook because it was closed, for any Outlander fan the tour was so worth it

We spent the day with our tour guide Sam who we cannot recommend highly enough. Her expertise and knowledge of Scottish landmarks and buildings used in Outlander is second to none. We had a really enjoyable time and would highly recommend this tour for small groups and solo travellers from all age groups. Thankyou Sam for a wonderful holiday memory!

My husband and I really enjoyed our day in the country with Sam finding the Outlander settings. She was a great guide and our group of six was entranced with the gorgeous countryside. We learned so much too about Scotland and it’s history. Fascinating. We would only remark that the entrance fees for each stop seemed a bit high, though that was no fault of the tour company, and were mentioned up front. Overall a great time for any Outlander fan!

This is a fantastic tour of some of the filming locations of the TV series Outlander. It's well organised, leaves a good amount of time at each site and is guided by a friendly woman called Sam who is very knowledgeable about Outlander and Scotland in general. The highlight for me was Doune Castle (Leoch in the show) where you can get a free easy-to-use audio guide featuring Terry Jones of Monty Python fame and Outlander star Sam Heughan narrating your walk around the site. We also visited Midhope, Linlithgow,Culross and Blackness Castle all of which were excellent. As a member of English Heritage I got free entry to Blackness and Doune so take your card if you have one. There's time for lunch at Linlithgow, where you can choose from a range of cafes or eat your own picnic. I wish this kind of tour was available for all my favourite TV programmes.

Thank you very much to Sam, who knows a great deal of outlander. We were a group of four and Sam could give attention to everyone. If you are a outlander fan, I highly recommend this tour. In the end of it, it made me want to go back and explore even more. Cheers from Norway!
