Begin the trip to Coimbra, a Portuguese city located in central Portugal and the country's old capital, houses a preserved medieval old town and the historic University of Coimbra.
The second city to visit is Aveiro, a city on the waterfront is considered the small Venice of Portugal. It is an important urban center, port, rail, university and tourist.
This itinerary may change. We can start in Aveiro, depending what the group wants.

Costa nova was gorgeous, Aveiro super picturesque and so was Coimbra carrying a lot more history. Very enjoyable trip!

Our guide, Liliana, was incredibly warm and nice, providing flexibility and extra services. Felt like a private tour! We explored Aveiro’s charming canals and colorful houses, complemented by a relaxing river cruise. The tour was well-organized, with timely pick-up and comfortable transportation. Aveiro & Coimbra were cities definitely worth a visit. Overall it was a great day out so we would highly recommend this trip.

I liked that Inêz, our driver/tour guide gave us options several times. Loved Aveiro & all the different decorations in the paver tiles & murals. I was disappointed that we were put in with a large French tour group on the boat tour instead of a smaller boat. I feel we got lost in their group.

This was such a memorable day trip. Our tour guide Victor, who by the way is one of the best we’ve ever had, first took us to visit Costa Nova and the market …. gorgeous place. Aveiro is amazingly beautiful and the Moliceiro boat ride there is a must. We walked along the boardwalk, visited this little store and tried some traditional sweet treats. The weather there that day in the beginning of May was beautiful, sunny and warm. The visit to the university of Coimbra was awesome. Every step of this tour was great, no rush with enough time to appreciate everything. Victor is a very gentle and knowledgeable young man, very pleasant and patient answering all our questions. The whole experience was one hundred percent positive and enjoyable. We highly recommend this company.

We taken on this tour by Liliana from Meridian 4 people. There were only 5 persons on this tour and Liliana could therefore make it personal. Liliana was driver and guide and told us about the origins of the university and how the uniforms the students wear were the inspiration for the Harry Potter films. At Aveiro we were given a ride on a gondola that was very interesting, being told all about the reason the canals exist and the history of the houses along the way. Known as Little Venice. A long and interesting day and Liliana made this worth the while. Thank you.

This was a great day long trip away from Porto that kept us busy and entertained. We loved visiting the beach town of Aveiro and Costa Nova. Amazing beach town right on the water and then the city full of canals. The University was full of history and Liliana shared so much knowledge with us. She was a fantastic host and we would go on a future trip with her in a heart beat.

It was an amazing trip that I highly recommend anyone who is visiting Portugal specifically Porto. Our guide, Inez was really amazing with all her knowledge and her ability to share and detail the history of the country and fun fact that we would never have discovered on our own. She went over and above what you would expect from a tour guide. She was insightful and funny at the same time and made the daytrip a memorable That I will recommend anyone traveling to Porto to take advantage of.

This tour is 100% recommended, not only because of the logistics and the guide but because the places are iconic and unforgettable (A must if you visit Porto).

This is a great tour. The drive is beautiful and Aviero, Costa nova, Coimbra are unique in each of their own ways. Our tour guide, Lily, really knew the sites and knew exactly what to present to us. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating, and it was raining quite a bit, but she was able to modify the agenda to ensure that we still saw some useful sites and was even kind enough to ensure we had umbrellas and minimized our time in the rain while still being able to see the various cities. Coimbra was incredible between the museum and the university- simply stunning. It’s hard to fathom how the structures were built so long ago. You are completely overwhelmed when you see it in person.
