There was less to see and more to imagine in this tour as physically there is no Edo castle and Imperial Palace is on the west side which is out of bounds. However, our guide Miyu provided an excellent account of the history of the site which allowed us to picture the past events associated with this location. Overall, a tour more for historical learning than for sight seeing.

Great walking tour through the Imperial Palace grounds and gardens. Please note visitors are not allowed in Palace itself, so this tour is strictly outdoors in the surrounding ruins and gardens. Wear sneakers/comfy shoes and bring sunscreen/parasol if touring during summer.

Miyu was a wonderful guide, prepared with laminated pictures for more context and able to answer questions from the group. She even knew where more iris gardens and Edo ruins could be found in Tokyo for those who wanted to see more.

I booked this tour at the last minute as our tour to Kamakura was cancelled because of inclement weather. Our tour guide Loc was wonderful. He was very friendly, knowledgable, engaging, and brought his own illustrations. He answered people's questions and provided information to other activities that people were interested in.

Excellent guided tour of the remains of the Edo castle by Loc. He brought to life many historical figures in the context of each location we were seeing. He also represented to us foreigners the relationship between the Japanese people and their emperor. On the practical side Loc managed the group well, waited for slow walkers, always stopped in the shade and so on. It was enjoyable and the time flew by quickly. Recommended!!!
