This was awesome. Learnt more about the samurai culture through this workshop. Even got taught the dual wield technique which was a bonus. Highly recommend doing this.

My son had a great time. We had gone to another samurai experience he said that was fun too but thought that yours was an awesome 2nd experience. Being able to handle history and actually utilize a real katana was an experience he will never forget. I have spent a lot of time reading feudal Japan history and love it so when he was in histories presence, I was very proud that he found it as beautifully elegant as I do. Thank you so much!

We had a great time, we learned a lot about the history & heritage of samurai. It's clear how much the teacher appreciates passing his knowledge onto people. Seeing his collection up close was a big honor. The cutting at the end was fantastic and I was thankful he took time with our kids to help them succeed. We had a guide, Masahiro, who helped us in understanding what the teacher wanted to say & took photos on our behalf, as well as after class he suggested a great place for us to visit.

This was a great experience! My son and I enjoyed the history and techniques that were taught to us. We were able to cut through tatami mats on our own. Our translator was a great help for us and was quick to respond and explain many of the nuances of what we were doing. Pick up was timely and easy to get to at the Starbucks.

What an amazing experience. Truly must do this at least once in a lifetime. Stating with Masahiro San; our guide, he was extremely engaged, energetic and knowledgeable throughout the event. We met at the Starbucks as planned and he showed up 15 minutes early to greet us, we then walked to the dojo which was only a couple of minutes away. Once at the dojo we met with Master Sakaguchi and learned about the rich history of the gym, it doesn’t get more authentic than this I was awestruck the whole time. We got dressed in our go and we first used replica katana to learn the draw and different poses and Masahiro San took a ton of great pictures for us and videos, then Master Sakaguchi taught us the tatami cutting technique and my girlfriend and I were able to pass the Samurai Experience challenge successfully. After we cut the tatami we were amazed by Master Sakaguchi demonstrating his cutting technique and finally we were awarded with certificates for our participation. I will treasure this experience for my lifetime. Thank you so much to everyone in the dojo I hope I can one day come back and see you all again.
