Despite the controversy about the bullfighting all around the world, the historical and tradicionalist trascendence that it has in our community cannot be overlooked. In order to understand part of this folklore, visiting the bullring can be an interesting tour for all those that decide to know an attractive building whose origins have made possible its evolution to the building that nowadays is the actual bullring.

The tickets’ fees aren’t included in the tour’s price.
Prices for the bullring:
-General ticket: 8€
-Reduced ticket: 5€ for pensionist, seniors (over 65) and students
-Reduced tickets: 3€ for children between 7 and 11 years old both included.
-Free tickets: For children up 7 years old.
Remember to bring with you your original documents (passports, drive license, ID, students cards) in order to enjoy the discounts. Copies aren’t allowed.
The schedule of bullfighting show days is from 9:30 to 15:00.

La Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, comunemente conosciuta come La Maestranza, è una delle arene per corride più antiche e prestigiose del mondo.
La costruzione dell'arena iniziò nel 1749 e fu completata nel 1881. La Real Maestranza è famosa non solo per la sua antichità, ma anche per la sua bellezza architettonica. L'arena è stata testimone di alcuni dei più grandi momenti della storia della tauromachia e continua a essere un punto di riferimento per gli appassionati di corride.
La Maestranza è caratterizzata dal suo stile barocco. La facciata esterna bianca e gialla è decorata con elementi classici e barocchi, mentre l'interno presenta una vasta arena circolare con gradinate di pietra e legno che possono ospitare circa 12.000 spettatori. Uno degli elementi più distintivi è la "Puerta del Príncipe", l'uscita trionfale riservata ai toreri che hanno realizzato una corrida eccezionale.
Situato all'interno della Maestranza, il museo Taurino offre una ricca collezione di oggetti legati alla tauromachia, tra cui costumi da torero, manifesti storici, trofei e dipinti. È un ottimo modo per approfondire la storia e le tradizioni delle corride.
All'interno troviamo anche la Capilla de los Toreros: Una piccola cappella dove i toreri si recano a pregare prima di entrare nell'arena. È un luogo di grande importanza emotiva e spirituale per i matadores.
Troviamo anche l' Enfermeria: qui viene dato il primo soccorso ai toreri feriti e le scuderie dove vengono tenuti i cavalli dei picadores, i cavalieri che preparano il toro affinché il torero possa affrontarlo nelle fasi successive della corrida. Sono figure fondamentali nel rito della corrida, alla pari del matador: la loro importanza è dimostrata dal fatto che i picadores indossano costumi ornati in oro, proprio come i toreri.
La stagione delle corride a Siviglia inizia a Pasqua e dura fino a ottobre, con l'apice durante la Feria de Abril, una delle fiere più importanti della città. Durante questo periodo, La Maestranza ospita alcune delle corride più prestigiose e attese dell'anno, attirando toreri di fama mondiale e un pubblico internazionale.
L’orario di apertura sono le 9:30 mentre la chiusura varia tra le 19:00 e le 21:00 a seconda della stagione.
Online si trovano solo i biglietti con la guida a 25 euro, mentre in loco i biglietti costano 10 euro con audioguida
Sono contraria ad ogni tipo di crudeltà nei confronti deli animali, ma vi consiglio questa visita

We had a private tour. Isabel was the best! Bullfighting is a controversial issue, but essential to an understanding of Seville and Spain. Isabel was articulate and engaging and managed to provide a detailed discussion of the social and historical importance of bullfighting, without getting wrapped up in the political discussion. Truly an intelligent and charming individual. Also provided lots of extras. Was prepared with a wealth of additional information and background on her phone. And even left us with a tasty treat as a parting gift, which was totally unexpected. And sent us pictures!!
We were disappointed with our other group tours in Seville. Track down Isabel for ALL your Seville sites. Better insight, better tour, and less money. The group tours were horrible. Isabel was the best of our tours in our two weeks in Spain. Isabel ROCKS!

I booked a tour to the bullfight arena with Isabel. Right after I had booked the tour Isabel contacted me, provided very helpful information how to buy the entrance tickets, and communication with her was super easy onwards. The tour with Isabel was worth every cent. She shared so many information and stories which made the tour and the bullfight arena even interesting for my two teenager girls who are usually hard to keep entertained. Her English is very good too and she is as a person also very nice. I can highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Isabel! The tour with you was the highlight of our visit in Sevilla.

I believe this was the most interesting tour I have taken. Our private guide, Isabel was SO kind to wait for us when we went to the wrong meeting point. She was not only informative, but very honest about her personal feelings regarding the controversy of bulllfighting in Spain. As an American, I really did not know the history and the tradition of bullfighting nor the brutality to the animals...it was truly an experience I will not forget. Got some great pictures and so enjoyed meeting Isabel...she even presented us with a small gift as we departed.

Isabel is an excellent guide. She responded very quickly to our booking and we agreed a time that suited us both. We met her outside the bullring and she gave us some fantastic history of the surrounding area and the statues nearby. Isabel had advised us how to buy the tickets online a couple of days before. Entry was easy and without queuing. Our visit was at 11:00 on Sunday morning and there only a very few visitors there. Isabel gave us valuable insights into the history of bullfighting, the ring in Seville and the dangers the men and women face who enter the ring with a bull.
Even if bullfighting is not your thing, I would recommend a visit here with Isobel. Her English is excellent and she had many interesting facts to share about this important part of the Spanish culture.

Isabel was a fabulous tour guide. She gave us a wonderful tour of the Bullfighting Ring. She communicated with us before the tour as well as after the tour. She was extremely knowledgeable of Spanish history and culture. She also spoke English well.

I had a wonderful experience with Isabel! Listening to her felt like listening to a story yet I still felt like I was learning something. She gave pointed descriptions about the artifacts and paintings. This was my favorite tour in Seville!

Thanks Isabel for a great tour! We enjoyed learning the history of bull fighting and experiencing the space first hand. Standing in the middle of the arena was the highlight! The kids were able to see how fast they could run around it and imagine what it would be like to face a bull. You can even see the bull horn dents in the wood panels! We also very much appreciated that Isabel adjusted how she shared some historical information to suit young children (7, 4). She also had a bag of local treats for us as a thank you which was a nice touch. Thank you so much!

Isabel was a wonderful guide. Her knowledge of the bull ring, bulls and matadors was extensive but most impressive was her capacity to communicate with us on our private tour. We learned about the social history, context and contention around the sport in an enlightening manner. It was an outstanding couple of hours immersed in a delightful museum and the physical bullring. She was delightful.
